I just got an 17" Imac G5, not intel. I have a 20" Imac G5 that I already replaced the caps on and it is working perfect. The 20" had around 5 1000uf 16v caps and 20 1800uf 6.3v caps.

The 17" I just got is very flakey and will shutdown before loading OSX and *sometimes* the screen has vertical lines in it. I took a look at the caps and every single cap is 1800uf 6.3v. Also there are a few caps that are a little higher than the rest. So I am kind of thinking the motherboard has already been recapped and the person who recapped it didn't replace the 5 1000uf caps...
