Re: Vizio E320-B0 wont power up
Hi all. I picked up this same unit from a local Goodwill for $16 knowing it wasn't working, but the exterior was mint so figured it would be a cheap project. I purchased a power board amd main board from SJ for $28 delivered just in case. I can get sound and there is an image, but the back light isn't working. Replacing both power and main boards had no effect. I'm wondering if I received a faulty main board or if the boards that run across the base (pictured above) are bad. Not sure if they are inverter boards, tconn or what, but there are two of...

Re: 14 blinks TC-P50ST30
I would look at Shop Jimmy.com and see what compatability the SC board has. Type in the model number of your set and then search the results fo an sc board. I was able to get my repaired by ModusLink for under $50

Re: Toshiba LED TV, blank screen
Not sure if this is what you are needing. My TV is reassembled and working great, so I don't want to mess with it anymore. This image was from one of MDluffy's original posts and I simply copied it and added some highlights to show which pin I clipped....

Re: Toshiba LED TV, blank screen
Using the information in Post #32 as well as Post #35, I was able to pull the #15 pin out of the connector housing on the PSB and clip it off. I left enough length to insert it back into the connector housing, but not long enough to reach the female connector when attached. The tv is now working brilliantly....

Re: Samsung UN55B7000WF - backlight present but no image
I'm finding these boards online for anywhere from $45 - $95 USD. I feel I would have to pay someone at least that much just to replace the fuse, or spend twice as much on higher quality soldering equipment to do it myself, so simply buying a working board is something I don't have a problem doing, especially when considering I was given the TV for free.
Also...I got into the service menu to see how many hours of use it had and was shocked that it has nearly 14,000 hours. This was purchased...

Re: Samsung UN55B7000WF - backlight present but no image
Forum experts...any thoughts on the T-Con board number being referenced for a different model of TV? There are certainly a lot of boards out there that say they're for the UN55B7000, but literally everything I've found with the part number printed on the label for my board is for the UN55B6000. Any chance they put the wrong board in at the manufacturer and that is why the fuse crapped out?

Re: Toshiba LED TV, blank screen
Are you talking about the wires/ribbons attached to the boards? That was the first thing I did was to disconnect, clean them off, and reconnect them. There was no change in the issue which prompted me to post in this forum....

Re: Samsung UN55B7000WF - backlight present but no image
Well...the issue can now be confirmed that it was this tiny "N" fuse that was faulty. I built a separate 4A fuse and soldered it to either side of the open fuse. I now have an image!! However...when I turned the TV for the first time after creating the fix, there were a couple sparks as a different component on the right side of the board fried (I was not able to see any obvious damage, but I saw the spark and smelled the burnt component). Regardless...the display continued to work perfectly...

Re: Toshiba LED TV, blank screen
I downloaded and installed the firmware update and the TV worked great for about an hour as my kids and I watched a couple episodes of The Simpsons. I told my wife it was fixed, she came downstairs to see and it crapped out again. Dammit.

Re: Toshiba LED TV, blank screen
Hi Folks...I picked up this same model through Craigslist last week knowing it had a very similar issue. The only difference is when turned on, i will typically get an image for a 5-10 seconds, then the screen starts flashing and goes blank. You can see the image but the backlight stops working. Audio continues to work fine. I can power the set off with the remote and immediately turn back on and the image will come back. Once in a while i can get the image to stay on for 30-40 minutes. I did a quick experiment by changing the input selection once...

Re: Samsung UN55B7000WF - backlight present but no image
Budm...you are referring to the 10A Max slot on my meter? I know how to set it up but am not familiar with using it. Again, very little experience using a multimeter except for high school science class back i the 80's. I do't mind probing around the tcon or main board, but would not be comfortable examining the powerboard with the TV plugged in....

Re: Samsung UN55B7000WF - backlight present but no image
have to head out so unable to do full check.
voltage readings with TV on are 131.5 one way and 11.93 the other way. Does that sound better?
Also...when checking the ohms. Putting the probes on either side of fuse got a reading of 000.0 one way, and then simply "Open" on the screen when I reversed them. No beep either way.
I will need to check the other stuff when I get back home tonight.

Re: Samsung UN55B7000WF - backlight present but no image
OK...my multimeter advised that the fuse circuit is open (vs shorted) but there was no readout of any ohms...merely says open or shorted and beeps accordingly. Again...the unit beeped when the probes where touched together, but no beep when placed on either side of the fuse. I tried different settings under "Ohms" but nothing came back with any readings I then turned it to measure the volts, and grounded the black wire to the chasis and probed the red wire to both sides of the fuse as suggested (with...Last edited by northwestdad; 07-12-2014, 12:20 PM.

Re: Samsung UN55B7000WF - backlight present but no image
Thanks for the feedback and I did find the fuse and the white arrow on the TCon board. It's installed upside down on the unit so I couldn't find anything in the "bottom-left" when I looked initially.
And I do appreciate your safety message. I won't work on any sets that need to be plugged in while having their innards probed. I obviously don't have the knowledge to diagnose a board at the micro component level, much less repair it. I also know that some areas of the power board will...Last edited by northwestdad; 07-12-2014, 10:18 AM.
