• Re: Need help to buy replacement for toasted diodes

    Hi Jiroy,
Thanks a lot for your responses, the info you given here is very much useful and correct. I'll post some of the follow up repairs of the VDO odometer circuit board which i'm currently working on after i buy the replacement parts frm my local online store. Cheers!

  • Need help to buy replacement for toasted diodes

Hi! I hope someone can help me out cause I'm looking into replacing one of the barrier diode that is faulty on my VDO odometer circuitboard due to short circuit lately. The part has marking on its body which reads "SJ" on the upper row while "39" on the lower.

Close-up photos included for the part and the numbers but the problem i can't find this part for sale anywhere. Oh! I don't even know if this part has any datasheet available for free online. So I wonder does anybody know any suitable replacement ot something equivalent to it?

    Thanks ahe...

  • Re: Conform Coatings Application On Motherboard /Circuit board

Will it be truly necessary to completely remove the existing coat on these memory module before even applying the new acrylic coat. What will happen if I don't remove the coatings as I don't have the necessary tools to do it?...

  • Conform Coatings Application On Motherboard /Circuit board

    Hi Badcapers,
Would like to ask I'm having a few boards which some are memory modules PC100/PC133, motherboard from Acer Aspire V76M desktop system, wireless card and laptop memory modules which are not working properly likely due to minor shorts causing crashes on systems. Can any light conformal coatings usage in aerosol/spray mode be used on these circuits boards as a protective layer/film to prevent from dusty environment? What kind of brands available out there will be specialised for insulating boards against chemical or corrosive attack? THANK YOU..

  • Suspected DWM156 D-LINK USB Adapter Mainboard With Leaky Transistor

    Hello Badcaps.net,

Does anyone has any clues what the value of this SMD transistor(PIC01). I suspected it's a leaky transistor where the mainboard of this DWM-156 DLINK USB Adapter failed to read the SIM card whenever I tried to use it to access the internet service. BTW I have attached some of the photos of the adapter mainboard and other parts(PIC02,PIC03,PIC04) so if you guys have any ideas for fixing it you're always welcomed to post them here. THANKS AHEAD OF TIME..

    Hi R_J Badcaps.net,

Do you have any ideas how does the C518 ceramic capacitor of the mainboard GT-I8552 connect to the rest of the circuit for instance, THE CHARGING CIRCUIT of this phone and also if possible can you pls explain in briefly how and where it leads to. Here would like to attach the PCB diagram of SAMSUNG GT-I8552 for your reference..THANKS AGAIN HERE

    Hi R_J Badcaps.net,

First of all I'm saying thanks for the very useful link you have posted here for me which will definitely provide the exact value of the C158 capacitor. I'll be likely ordering it at soon as possible as well as posting some photos of the repair here in this forum later on. Another thing is on the previous post I've mistakenly spotted a wrong ceramic capacitor label, it is C518. BTW thanks a lot for looking up the precise value here for me so that I can repair it...

    Hi Badcaps.net,

Does anyone here has any idea what the value of this ceramic capacitor (C158). I do able to download the schematic for my Samsung GT-I8552. They included only the part lists but not able to provide the values for the use of anyone who attempting to fix their useless product...that's the reason I'm here to post the photo of my SAMSUNG GT-I8552 mainboard asking for just little help from you guys. Thanks in advance if any kinds of help available to fix my leaky ceramic capacitor issue on my phone!

  • Re: Own Custom Build Computer With ECS Motherboard-No POST

    Hi Agent24,

I had previously managed to desolder one of this array capacitor (flat pins) that ties to the ic ST75185CTR for pulling the logic level low as motherboard drive PS_ON# normally with this open collector driver that can pull the signal level down. However, unfortunately while trying hard to remove it from the motherboard, a few pins of the array capacitor have been destroyed by overheating them. Here, I would really like to know if you have any idea of what kind of tip should be used to rework...

....so lately I resoldered the ST75158CTR, an SOP-20 ic but unfortunately I lifted 2 tiny pads on the motherboard while using my soldering iron with temperature control. The reason is that it doesn't have any auto-reset on the temperature setting and i kept increasing the temperature till it was around 400°C. This is a big mistake and I had previously messed with its' setting so the temperature is all the way out of range..(refer PIC-A)

...you can actually notice that I rewired the lifted pads...

    Hi banchi99,
I found the schematic diagram for your motherboard from here or link (http://kythuatvitinh.vn/forum/mainboard-pc/th%E1%BA%A3o-lu%E1%BA%ADn-s%E1%BB%ADa-ch%E1%BB%AFa-mainboard-pc-repair-discussion/12256-c%E1%BA%A7n-xin-schematic-c%E1%BB%A7a-main-biostar-g31-m7). I uploaded the whole PDF file and post it here..not really sure if the version is the one you're looking for but I hope it will help. If you don't mind can I know the symptoms or troubles of your board..it might be interesting if there are pictures...

    Hi Agent24,

Do you have any idea about the correct soldering temperature for ST75185CTR or 686-4954. It should be an SOP-20 ic if not mistaken. The datasheet does not provide any reliable information on the reflow temperature for the ic. Can you please help me on this one? I'll still try to work on it this weekend...

    Hi Agent24,

It has been a while since the last post on testing the discrete signal through the capacitor EC49's positive lead. The EC49 capacitor is working perfectly but I found a badly overheated SMT package I.C. which happens to be the ST75185CT-S. From the schematic (page 25), it controls the COM port by getting a dual switching power deriving from the 5V and +12V PSU (flyback converters). It's a serial port controller, the one with label U1 from the picture I've attached...

    PIN_C (CATHODE): 2.47V

As for the resistors ER10 and ER11, I found out that both of the resistors are having the same 2.47V which is slightly lower here whenever I measured them towards the gnd or towards the Ref pin of the D9431-S SHUNT REGULATOR. BTW, I too tried to measure up ER10 towards the other end which also happened to be VREF1_05V output and both of the ER10 and ER11 showed 1.067V. Here it's slightly the same voltage that...

...wow do you mean that I'm getting into all this suspected TCC sensor broken will likely be wrong...? Do you have any ideas to actually locate the right Southbridge_VCC or other voltages on the motherboard? For the voltage of the Southbridge_VCC, I abruptly measure the positive legs of all those 3 Nichicon capacitor located between the Southbridge and the ram slots, then I just get one of the capacitors reading which is EC49, so am I measuring the correct VCC voltage here?Re: Own Custom...
