  • samsung ln32c450e1d light blinks 5 times when turned on

Just wanted to mention this about this model that everyone seems to be having trouble with. I read all the threads and did all the checks with no luck. My set was acting a little different. It would come on and work good until you turned set off then when you tried to turn on again it would blink 5 times and then it would not come on until you unplug set for few minutes and then it would come on again. All voltages checked ok except backlight and dim when I tried to turn on again. after I tried everything I read on threads and was about to give up I decided to try factory re-set for Samsung tv...

  • 39 inch vizio no sound or picture but have backlights

I am working on vizio with backlights only. It has only one panel for power and main . that's changeable. Remote works turns on and off but that's it. I have tried 2 different panels. same results. My first thoughts were ee-prom. rather than take a chance on that i changed whole panel. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on?

  • Re: panasonic tc-50pu54 no picture ligh blinks 8 times

Back again. This set is driving me crazy. I think i'm going to need schematic to go further. Does anyone have one or know where one could be found? I found a flow chart and it said all the connectors going to panel from ss panel has to have connection between pins 1&2. I have connection on all but ss57. Number 1 on all connectors go to some sort of detect ckt. so i'm assuming this could be my problem. I traced out cable and it looks good. Did anyone else have this problem?

yes those were all replaced. part no. is tnp5623ab. ss panel. What I would really like to know has anyone ever measured res. of the ribbon cables going from ss panel to display panel pin 1 to pin 2. they all read the same except one I mention above. my camera is lost at moment but panel can be observed by pulling up thread by model no. on this site. thanks for info.

  • panasonic tc-50pu54 no picture ligh blinks 8 times

I have 50 inch plasma Panasonic that has the 8 blink trouble . I have been reading all the threads listed on site and also checked and replaced most of the parts I read about. No luck. Just to let you know a little history. It had a shorted Q051 tr shorted dg302 which I replaced. I discovered that if I removed ss33 ribbon connector I would get sound and a faint display in left front top corner. As soon as you hooked back s33 connector you get 8 blinks. After all my checking I discovered that on SS57 connector that goes to display does not have any continunity from pins 1&2 as all the other...

  • Re: a better way?

I think you have some led backlights shorted out so when you turn set on the power supply shuts off. If you had led checker you could check your backlights by disconnecting plug to lights and checking each leg and looking through holes in back for light or you could remove display and check lights one by one or by each string of lights. Good luck....

Hi- the only way you can measure voltage across fuse is because its bad. its open. burned out. Before you replace fuse check for short. usually its a rectifier....

  • Re: Samsung UE50H6400AK Panel or T-Con? Has Backlights And Audio

Hi- I have same problem with set i'm working on with same results you have. With both ribbons hooked up to to t-con I get little or no voltage to buffer boards. I disconnect the right ribbon and voltage came back on one side with picture on that side that I hooked up and the other side had just white screen. I hooked up other side by it self and had horiz lines on white screen for short time then faded out. the other side was dark. right side. I had little or no voltage on buffer board. I checked all...

quote=dskall;749106]So did you try disconnecting ribbon cables to panel one at a time?[/QUOTE]

yes I did with no results on front of display but voltage from out of t-con to display changed from no voltage connected to voltage present when disconnected. I think this tells me I have a bad display panel. Just my luck. Its acts like I have a shorted panel. Any more thoughts or should I just scrap it?Re: Samsung un50h6203 sound-backlights-no picture

Yes that is the first voltage I always check. changed it also. I did notice two small led lights on t-con on all the time which I think is not normal and might be an indicator of bad display panel. Has anyone had this trouble before?...

  • Samsung un50h6203 sound-backlights-no picture

My friend said he left tv on and went out afew minutes and came back in and sound was there but no picture but could see a slight glow around edge of screen. Remote and all voltages are ok as for as i can tell. Back lights are on. I suspected t-con so i replaced it and no luck. All voltages from ps are ok. T-con volt. Ok backlight volt. Ok. At this point i suspect the display panel bad how can i check it out and tell for sure. Do they short out and shut down picture? I also changed main and ps panels out of a working set. No luck. I'm at loose ends right now so if you have any ideas i would appreciate...

  • Re: 55 lg model 55uf6450 no backlights

I had already ordered ps so I waited until it came in and tried it first but I did try the old board and it was same as new board. Nothing much left but main board. Set is only 15 months old so I guess its worth trying. I hope I haven't damaged display by removing it first. It really wasn't that much trouble. I just hope I didn't damage any ribbon cables that caused all those color dots on screen. I double checked and they look ok. Thanks for helping. I will keep you posted.

Back to you Budm- I installed PS and got same results. Shorted backlights on to 3.2 turn on voltage and lights came on. screen looked like million of colored dots. I had t-con panel on hand changed it and same results. one side of screen looks little different than other side. had good brightness but no sign of video or picture while trying hdmi input. I tried remote but I could not tell when I had it on right input. I'm thinking main panel at this point. Any thoughts you might have I would appreciate it.

Thanks- i will check the back light on tomorrow. I have checked the on off start up and the voltage does not change when turned on. You are right i do not get the boost voltage at all. Yes that is the correct board i'm working on.

  • Re: 55 lg model 55uf6450 no backlights

Thanks for the return budm. I think i overlook the very obvius thing i should check first. The voltage to the lights would come up to 119 volts when i turned on set and i thought it was correct not knowing how the lights were wired. The voltage after checking were suppose to be 193 volts which would make the drop across each light appx. 3.2. Which is what it is suppose to be. I ordered power supply panel today. Should work.

2 wires per strip coming from power supply. They shine against plastic or glass sheet on one side to light display.
