  • LG 42PT85 tv not powering up

When i switch the tv on i will get 3-4 flashing of green light and then it turn solid green for 1-2 seconds and go back to red, There is no sign of life on the screen within those 2 seconds. I have visually checked the power board for capacitors and they look fine visually. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? Any help will be appreciated. thanks

Not much knowledge in electrical. I am familiar with the basic usage with a multimeter. I have just started this as a hobby last month and cant get enough of it. Most of the tvs i have repaired were bad capacitors which were easy to replace. If i could have clear instructions then i would be happy to follow and learn at same time.

    Hi
I have a 50 inch lg television. when i go to turn the tv on i hear a click at the back the light goes from red to green and it will flash 4 times and then it will go back to red. The fan also dosent seem to be working as well.
This is what i have tried so far: I have disconnected all the connectors going from power board to the main board and the ysus board. When i turned the tv on the power board just kept on clicking away without anything connected to it, i then 1 by 1 connected the ysus board and the main board and it still the same.
Do you think it could be a power...

    Hi Guys

I am new to the world of electronics. Im trying out as a new hobby as im very interested in how elctrical items work. I have managed to repair few faulty items in the house and some have ended up in the bin. I have become more interested in televisions and have repaired few. I want to use this forum to gain some valuable knowledge from other users.
