  • Re: Firmware Hisense 55B7100UW

Contact Hisense thru email they will send you a link for the firmware for your model. Its impossible to find it on any countries Hisense website. Believe me email is the only way, took them about 4 hours to reply instead of the 8 hours I wasted trying to find it on the web.

  • Re: Sharp LC-55LE653U Firmware

If it wont take the update in FAT32 try formatting the drive in FAT some of these mains are finicky about formats.
Multiple attempts may have to be attempted also before it will succeed ,be patient.

  • Re: Insignia NS-50LC240A13 questions

I would go with the failed MSD IC on the main too, even the slightest ripple in voltage is most likely going to toast it. I suggest replace the main they are problematic to put it lightly. Looking at the schematic for most Insignia sets there is little to no fault protection in any of them. The LED models also have the lowest quality LEDs Ive ever encountered too.

Exactly, you have a shorted strips which in effect is really hard to pinpoint.
These sets have some of the weakest leds Ive ever seen.
Every one of the strips I R&Red were yellow around the SMD on the strip and the unit I repaired had really low hours. I initially had thought I could replace just the shorted diodes until I realized just how low quality they actually were.
Play it safe and replace them all if want any reliability at all....

Had this very set come thru about a month ago and fought it for three days till I finally removed the panel completely (Be very very gentle with these and use good quality suction handlers) and there it was staring at me surrounded by 50 some working diodes was the burnt black eyed sob. Replaced all 10 strips in less than 30 mins, BAM working set. Needless to say lesson learned remove the panel and check the LEDs guys very common failure in this brand.

  • Re: Emerson LF501EM4 s/n ds4 no standby light, and won't power on.

I have this exact set on the bench at present, showing the exact same symptoms. And low and behold the exact voltages listed in the above post. I have followed the service manual to try to track down the culprit to no avail. Nothing Ive tried will bring it to life. All I get is a red standby light after its unplugged for about a half hour. Ive tried jumping resistors resetting ribbon cbls. Heat, Im stuck on this one. Anyone feeling they might have a clue please post.Im at wits end.Post some pics of all 2 boards may...

  • Re: Visio VL470M No Picture

Now I have another one of these and its got the same main board problem as the other 2 I've fixed by replacing the main. Now I wonder after closely inspecting U14 eeprom, it looks like its really got hot? or something all the contacts look really unflowed. I reflowed it = nogo. SJ sells the chip for like 15$ could this be the contributing failure to this board? Guessing only one way to find out unless anyone has an update on this set? The main is really REALLY hard to come by. For a 47 inch set this model has a very good picture definitely worth fixing....

  • Re: Sony KDL-32L5000 No Power

Would love to know if anyone ever found a resolve for this symptom, I also have all voltages 24v,3.3v and unregulated 12v and 15v and led's are on,still not getting any backlights. Power button does nothing. After set sits unplugged for sometime all 3 front panel led's stay on. One click from psu during plug in clicks once when unplugged.Sony training manual flow charts in circles? Another stumper I don't want to replace all three boards on. Also unplugging H2 has no effect. Help!

  • Re: INSIGNIA NS-L47Q09-10A: No Sound, No Picture

I have this set NS-LCD47HD-09 that has been on my bench since July I have vertical lines and close to the voltages you have .I have torn my hair out and still cannot get it to produce a picture after replacing so many caps I lost count. Replacement boards have been on in stock alert since July too ,no dice. Another BestBuy throwaway I guess I have had no luck.

  • Re: Vizio VT470M - Vizio logo on-screen, turns on/off but nothing else

Does it have anything on the screen at all logo/menu? If ur talking nothing on screen at all its def a psu or possible inverter issue. Have u done the "flashlight" test? If u get a faint image with the flashlight test menu/source changes/ anything, its then looking like main or psu/inverter. If ur backlights are on you will know it if you have the back panel off. This sounds like an easy fix most Vizio's are imho, u just have to eliminate the possibles one by one.

Ok if your baclights are on and stay on its not psu its most likely your main is going out or is already bad. hook up a source and try to get an image if not imho it's mainboard.

  • Re: Vizio VT470M - Vizio logo on-screen, turns on/off but nothing else

Yep it appears that the 5v standby is working which is most generally the case ,but the 12 or 25v side is not because imho of bad caps on the psu. Beleive me 95% of Vizio failure is bad psu caps. Seen it hundreds of times. Check your voltages (if you can), then look at the caps on the psu, sometimes they bulge sometimes not but thats usually the culprit in Vizio lcd's. However if your baclights are working and stay on, and still no response then thats steering towards the mainboard.

  • Re: Visio VL470M No Picture

You might also try looking at the pico fuses on the main itself. I repaired one bcuz it had one of the tiny pico's were blown probably from a voltage ripple from bad caps on the psu. It was an 11 cent fix, after replacing ALL caps on the psu. You can test continuity with a multi meter and good eyes as the pico's are tiny. I was searching Amazon today for a Samsung repair kit and I know there are some available for certain psu's for like 12$ might try that too. Digikey is also a good source for caps etc.

Yes and it took for EVER for them to finally get it in and if it wasn't for me being awake a 7am est. and getting that email I would still be waiting on the board, they had one ! I'm not sure if they are doing a send and fix, send it back but it might be worth looking into. I really don't like to deal in sensitive components from ebay but you can tske your chances there too. Good luck....

This model has power supply cap failures check your voltages on the 12v rail and 5v standby. I assure you it is 95% a psu problem most likely a 10v cap or two is bad. I replace all caps on Vizio psu's everytime they come with straight junk from factory, you were lucky to have gotten the mileage you did. Because the caps are not bulging doesn't mean alot on Vizio boards replace with Panasonic or better.

  • Re: Visio VL470M No Picture

If your getting 12v. 5v. from the rails most definitely the main. It is probably an Ic regulator or a pico fuse on the main that is the culprit. I could never track it down and took me 4 months to get a replacement main.

Did not fix this by replacing Ic's. I am at a loss on this one, anyone? have any luck?

  • Re: Considering Purchasing 46" Vizio for repair

The screen is most likely good, horizontal bars are way easier to diagnose than vertical. From what I can barely see in the pic is that looks like an Inverter,T-con, or Mainboard issue rather than the panel. It's worth 40.

  • Re: Vizio E472VLE vs VIZIO E3D470VX LCD SCREEN

Imho as long as voltages match up give it a try. There is probably a different scaling process on the the 3d mainboard that drives that panel but the 2d side is most likely the same. Should plug right up. I would "Frankintv" it together carefully tho and make sure upon startup nothing smokes, just be prepared for anything if you do try it. I think it should play fine but who knows?
