Hello guys, sorry i was away.
I checked the cables. All cables are fine. I'm attaching some photos of the board.

@badcappy
When the pc is disconnected, while showing "monitor is going to turn off" the back screen is also reddish. Does that mean the backlight is dead?Re: LCD colour distorted after capacitor change

LCD colour distorted after capacitor change
Hello guys!!
I need some help.
I've HP 1702 17" LCD Screen. Few days back it started flickering on startup. So I decided to change the capacitors. After opening the lcd panel, i found that one capacitor(1000uf 16v) had become fat and the other one(470uf 16v) had popped. I decided to put 1000uf 25 and 470uf 25v. After capacitor change, my lcd became reddish. I've attached some photos.
I thought it might be due to voltage increment, therefore I decided to put 1000uf 16v and 470uf 16v but the result is the same.
The capacitors were located...Last edited by yodude010; 11-12-2010, 04:53 AM.

Re: HP L1702 goes on and off
hello,
my hp 1702 17" was working fine, but suddenly its condition changed, when i turn it on, green light comes, i can see the image only for 1 or half second and it again disappears and reappears and this thing continues. The picture is fine but the screen keeps on blinking, the light is green, even the computer is turned off, this process continues.
What do you guys prefer me to do?
replace caps or what?
