    Well. That was it.
Today i got new Panasonic caps, soldered them to PSU and, *tadaa*,
it works! No smoke, no weird noise, no nothing extra. It_just_works,
    as a TV should. Cheers!

    Sec. electrol. capacitors (105C) :

    5 x 2200 uF 10V
    1 x 2200 uF 25V
    1 x 1500 uF 35V
    1 x 470 uF 35V
    1 x 470 uF 25V
    1 x 470 uF 10V
    1 x 47uF 50V
    1 x 1uF 50V

Partco supplies Panasonic caps in finland, abt. 20€ order placed. Now i´ll just have to wait a couple of days.

    Indeed.
At a glance, there are 5 bad capacitors (top is buldging). They are at the low voltage side of the PSU.

Some data extracted from the PSU PCB:

LG IT (Italy, perhaps?) Manufactured 06.12.04 Revision 1.0
    P/N : EAY34795001
    PCB : EAX32268501/8
    LG IT PCB P/N : 2300KEG009A-F PLHL-T602A

    INPUT AC 100V-240V~
    50 / 60Hz. 2.5A

    OUTPUT
    ST-BY 5VDC 2.0A
    ST-BY 3.4VDC 5.5A
    19VDC 1.45A
    12VDC 1.5A
    6.5VDC 3.5A
    P401~P402 980V~/108mA

    MODEL PLHL-T602A...

Very viddy well.. It will not enter even the stand-by- mode. I hear faint and random "inverter-like" whining inside the TV. No smoke (yet), no bad smell. I´ll open the cover.

    Hello, hello,
    here we go again.
Life´s Good, suggests the topic. Let´s see how this ends up. I have not taken this black beauty open yet, so can not tell if it contains Vestel or not :p According to Forum Search there is not a topic yet for this model, so i
    thought i´d start one.

Symptoms are: it will not wake up from the stand-by- mode. I guess it has something to do with PSU. As this evening (it´s 0930 hours p.m. in finland) folds into night i´ll start by opening her up and take a look inside. Will post here when something turns up. At meantime, fire...

  • Re: Finlux 26FLD745T Tuner (?) trouble

Thanks for the tip, i´ll keep that in mind.

I tried to replace the main board, but regional differences made the part unsuitable. Yas Tech U.K. was the supplier from where i ordered a replacement.

It was stuck in some test mode, i guess, for the screen flashed slowly from red to green, blue etc.

Furthermore, there was not a place for 2 x HDMI connector circuit board and some other differences so i gave up trying with the UK- originated main board.

The original main av board was assembled...

33V at PSU is 34V, and it is consumed on it´s way down to 32.8V at the tuner pin n:o 9, both steady. Dunno if this is within spec..

  • Re: Finlux 26FLD745T Tuner (?) trouble

The main a/v boards "CPU" cooling has been quite poor. A copper strip glued to the chip.. Downside of the board, under the chip, has turned color to brownish.

Also the other circuit board, which holds the pay tv card reader slot... The big chip on that one has been quite hot, the text has faded. Those two circuit boards are obviously quite tightly "married" to each other, there´s that ribbon cable and a cable with 3 leads between them.

Is there a way to check if the Conax card printed circuit board...

Exactly the same part number, new and soldered properly. A Thomson tuner that is. No datasheet/application note available at least via Google.

Scariest/funniest thing was that nothing changed by changing the tuner part.

I´ll go make some coffee and take a deeper look in the service menu.....

    Tom66,

thanks for the advice. Analog channels -> Snow -> MENU -> 4725 made it this time. But, everything appeared to be ok. I performed reset, just for kicks but nothing changed, nor bad or good. Off topic, is there a pre-amp of somekind in the tuner?

What should i try next with this?

  • Re: Finlux 26FLD745T Tuner (?) trouble

Should be configured for this region. It has never been in any other region than here, from shop to the table. I tried to enter the menu several times, but failed.

Should the MENU button be kept pressed while entering the numbers, or should it be pressed all the time while entering 4 7 2 5 ?
a.k.a. "Never entered any TV´s service menu before... "

Works fine with my other tv:s and my measuring instruments. Here are frequencies and channels in finland´s dvb-t free to air network network:

At PL807, pin number 4 from left,
of PSU there is 34.1V which is steady. Edit: that is all connectors disconnected. I´ll measure them next when everything is connected and live, tv turned on.

Edit: 33.9V steady, tv turned on, channel 44, all connectors connected. Signal keeps disappearing and coming randomly.

  • Re: Finlux 26FLD745T Tuner (?) trouble

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, it did work here. It is bought from finland abt. six maybe seven years ago, and is used in finland.

Sound is ok, HDMI input is ok, SCART input is ok. All other TV channels are ok (tolerable) but the mentioned ch. 44 is a disaster.

Bottom channels 562 mhz mux A,
there is little bouncing in reception but it can be used.

Middle channels 658 mhz mux B , a lot of bouncing, signal totally lost every few seconds

Top channels 770 mhz mux C, 100% signal, no bouncing....
