Re: Sanyo DP50710 problem
According to the manual I've been using, it says, "removing any power cables to isolate a bad pcb will not work with this unit" so I don't think it'll work. But, I will sure try it anyway.

Re: Sanyo DP50710 problem
Oh wow, I didn't even realize you guys were different people lol.. Sorry bout that.
Okay, maybe I just needed fresh eyes.. I found the SU41 and SD42. With SD42 unplugged the TPSC1 and base points are NOT shorted.. So then it led me to test C956 for resistance and it zeros out my meter.. C907 of the SU board is showing a steady climbing resistance.. So I'm thinking it's the lower SD buffer board that's bad. If you could over look my testing to the manual it would be awesome! Haha, thanks again!Last edited by Mud Digger; 01-28-2014, 05:23 PM.

Re: Sanyo DP50710 problem
Well I'm not getting any blinks, just solid green, then off.. I followed the link in your sig to toms manuals and found a similar unit and have been going down the list of testing. I'm having some trouble tho, when I'm looking for a short, is the continuity setting fine to use, or is ohms going to 0.000 better?
Also, I can't seem to find some of the locations like SU41.. And I think I found TPSC1 but it has a resistor there, is this normal? Thanks again!

Re: Sanyo DP50710 problem
Okay, I have all cables to the board disconnected, im using a snap-on EEDM503B meter, but i don't think it has auto range.. I was testing it on continuity and it was a little strange, would beep once then stop, and wouldn't beep again until I swapped the red and black leads, then would beep again and stop.. I tested this setting on a known bad board and the meter stayed on beeping showing a full short.. Well then I went back to resistance setting of 20M on the meter and tested again.. Now I'm showing 6.88 with the black lead on pin 3 (ground) and pin 1...

Re: Sanyo DP50710 problem
It is the j4fle, So that makes sense. I had seen that video and was wondering why those components weren't installed. Here's a close up shot of that area.....

Re: Sanyo DP50710 problem
Hi, thank you for responding! Yes, you are correct, it does have a Panasonic panel.. Okay I took some shots, I think they uploaded right.. The ss11 has three prong terminal, when testing the ground and TPVSUS I get no response from the meter, even up to 20m.. When testing between ground and the 15v input line, I get: .05 with then meter or 20m, but when I switch to 200k on the meter, it starts at .5 and steadily climbs up.....

Sanyo DP50710 problem
Hey guys, new to the forum here.. I'm working in a sanyo DP50710 that is not staying on. Press power button and there's a click, power light luminates.. Click, off.
I disconnected both x and y boards and still same, I tested voltage and it was off so I replaced the psb. Same thing.. But now since I have proper power, Ive been testing the main boards tp's and I'm not getting any voltage on the 13v audio.
After reading and watching videos I tested the three 1117s voltage regulators and they seem to test proper.. Not sure exactly where to go from here. If anyone has...
