  • Re: Samsung LN52A530P1FXZA Tab bonding repair

Thank you Budm, not to be a smart arse or anything but I was wondering because some of the pictures showed 5mm material folded over 3 times, and I didn't really understand how all that would fit between the tab and the frame

Spent 30 minutes looking through these threads on failing tab bonds and the symptoms but cant find out what the fix is. Can you please confirm that the repair is made by placing a soft pad of 5mm thickness over the tab connection and then re-assembling the frame to apply pressure on the tab?
    Cheers,
    Allan

I have a number of broken flat screen plasma and LED's coming to my place. What boards, besides the power board are worth salvaging for re-sale?

Hi Fireproof. Sorry to hear your replacement board didnt come up. I havent touched mine since we last spoke, just waiting to see if I can get more information first.

  • LG TH-L42D25A vertical white strip

I have inherited a tv with a white vertical bar about 7 inches wide and looking for any advice about troubleshooting it. I have removed the back and re-seated the display cables with no change.
Checked the fuse, and did a visual check of the capacitors for bulging.

Below are a couple of pictures. The power and imaging are located one combined board.

While I am familiar with electronics as a hobby in younger years (dad was a Electrical Engineer) and handy with a soldering iron, I am not experienced in troubleshooting or repairs. I have a nice DMM and tool kit,...

    Hi Fireproof and friends!

I found this amazing thread in a Google search because as it turns out, I have an LG 60PK550 with the exact same symptoms as yours. I have been reading the thread for a week or so but have not yet made a visual inspection of the inside of my unit, nor have I opened your images because I have been on my mobile phone only over the summer holidays. Nevertheless I am following the thread with fascination to see how you fare.

I have a good basic understanding and skill with electronic repairs but have never undertaken...
