I'll answer my own question, which may be helpful to others.

The laptop, which got some water on it somehow, would not power up. This is a nice windows 7 machine with an Intel I5 core processor, 17" display, 4 GB of memory, and a 500 gig hard drive. I really didn't want to chuck it and I didn't want to spend $300 to get it fixed, so I went ahead and ordered a replacement MB from a supplier at aliexpress. The board was shipped via air express and from order to arrival was 9 days. It was an exact replacement...

I need a motherboard for a Dell N7010. Has anyone tried a motherboard from aliexpress? Or, any other suggestions for a replacement motherboard.

Hey,
I'm happy to have found this forum. I looked at it several times, but was kind of confused by the forum name. Viewed some of the threads and this is just what I was looking for.
My background started in the mid sixties in Navy electronics and then a number of years in field service and troubleshooting main frame systems. Later in the development of prototype time sharing systems that were the foundation of the internet.
I'm sure there is much to learn from the forum and I hope I might contribute to this...
