    OK... Hell of a thing happened, turned it on last night and the line is gone. Ran for a good 6 hours last night and another 5 so far today, no sign of it returning yet.

  • Panasonic TC-P55VT25 Vertical Green Line

    My Panasonic plasma has developed (suddenly) a thin green line, one pixel wide, extending from the bottom of the screen straight up to the middle, where it ends. I attached a pic of the line, though it's a bit hard to see.

    Any ideas what might be causing this?

  • LG 60PG60F-UA, Lower section of screen is black

    Ok, I have an LG 60PG60F-UA. When turned on, regardless of selected input (including white broadcast snow) the lower half of the TV has no picture. Upper half looks fine. The division is sharp, along a single line of pixels.

    You can see this in the attached pictures (sorry about taking them through my railing, don't have a stand, tough to move this big sucker around). I can take clearer pictures if they would help.

    If I understand things correctly, I think I'm looking at a bad lower y-buffer board. Am I correct in this? Any advice would be great, this is my third...

    Wow that one kinda got away on me. What I meant to say was, with some help from Tom66's guide, I was able to trace the problem to a bad connection.

    Time to introduce myself I guess...

    I'm Ryan, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I've been a computer tech all my life, got into doing some PC board repairs when we started getting a lot of boards with blown caps. Fixed more of those than I care to remember.

    Eventually I got my hands on a Samsung LCD that wouldn't power on, figured what the hell, let's take a peek, and oh look, more bad caps on the power board. Hmm maybe this TV stuff would be interesting to get into...
