Would the voltage be the same in and out????12v in 12v out or would they differ. 12v in nothing out ,I would assume would be bad.Leave a comment:

Taking the probe and contacting the capasitor leads one after the other while leaving the ground lead on the frame.This is on a hot circut. What kind of reading should I expect.With my 40 yr old training my basics really suck.Leave a comment:

On a energized power supply will a capacitor voltage read the same on both leads? I have a dead power supply and I m trying to locate the bad area. -

Popping in with a quick question. With a power supply powered up will voltage be the same on both termanels of a capacitor ?? The glue will not conduct electricity so it will have to be soldered.Use as little heat as possible and work fast to prevent delamination on the board. I use a really hot iron and get in and out fast on this type of repair.Leave a comment:

I guess my big question is what carries the voltage across the dotted line on the board. all the test points on the 110v side have power,everything on the slave side is dead.Looks like the only bridge components are a cap, a xformer. three tiny square thingies with 4 legs (technical term),and a coil.Trying to back trace to a dead part.Leave a comment:
