Re: Sony KDL-46XBR4 and KDL-40XBR4
Ok perfect! Have you ever done this on a Sony before? And yes everything matches up and the boards look identical, but no one seems to have any confidence that it would work. I am not sure if it because it is no supposed to work because Sony wants it to be part specific. It should also be noted that this part was sold as part of the panel and there are not alot of them out there because of this.
Thanks for your help!

Sony KDL-46XBR4 and KDL-40XBR4
Can anyone tell me if the I can use a t-con board from the KDL-40XBR4 in a KDL-46xbr4? I found someone that was able to use the 46" in a 52" but I have not found any other information on this :-). My TV is the older version with serial# 80****** I really appreciate all your help!

Sony Bravia T-Con Power Spike and drop?????
Hi all!
I have been diagnosing what is wrong with my Sony bravia KDL-46XBR4 and took the entire t-con board off of the panel to inspect it. I decided to create a solder bridge across the top of the fuse because it appeared that the fuse may be bad. When I did so and hooked it up there was a noticeable change. I took my ohm meter and decided to put the positive side (with it switched to 20 DC) and put it on the back of the t-con fuse. The meter read, 3, 6, 10, 12.2, 1, 3, 5, 10, 12.1, 0 and while it was spiking up and back down I could hear a strange clicking sound on the t-con itself....

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4 T-Con Compatability
My Panel Number is LTY460HH-LH2. So if I find that the t-con LJ94-01953H is compatable with this panel number, but is not the same as the one that is currently in my unit it should work? I am not sure if the reason others are telling me that there are no substitutes for my t-con board are doing so because Sony was selling this as part of the panel and not seperately....

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4 T-Con Compatability
Its official..... Its the T-Con :-(..... well not so much a sad face since now I know exactly what it is, but now the problem is finding a t-con that will work with my television. Anyone have an inside scoop for a place that would have the t-con that I need?
Splitcrete- I have been told by nearly every person I have asked that your model will not work unless you or someone else would know it would?? I'm thinking many of these people are saying this mainly because it does not show as a substitute part in their manuals....

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4 T-Con Compatability
Ok I did that and both times it was .000 so I am guessing that my fuse is good :-) which is technically not good but still good that I could determine that haha
Splitcrete- I definitely am interested in the t-con board you mention! I think I will wait until I get my main board which is this Tuesday to for sure so I can make sure the main board does not fix it.
I still am concerned about the compatitibility of these t-cons, mainly because of the difference in cost and availibity. Also is...

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4 T-Con Compatability
I noticed the fuse in your t-con didn't look blown is this a common thing? Also how can I test my fuse in my t-con?
The pic looks different from mine, but yours is the one I was thinking could be used as a replacement :-) If someone can tell me how to test my fuse then I can let you know :-)
Thank you again for your help splitcrete!

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4 T-Con Compatability
I really appreciate your consideration splitcrete! Is there any way that you could send me a picture of it by chance? and also will this fit my unit (with all the information above)? I would obviously be unbelieveably gracious and interested
I have checked the fuse and it looks good to me, but is there anything else on the t-con that I can check for the reason it has malfunctioned? I thoroughly looked this part over and it was literally like new. It did have a whole bunch of very weird clear liquid...

Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4 T-Con Compatability
Hi There All!
I am currently waiting for my Main board to arrive to see if it can solve the issue I have been having with my Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4. I am preparing for the worst and want to find out my options in the even that this component does not fix my issue. The issue I am having is the TV sometimes turns on and when it does there are no issues at all. Other times (and most of the time) I will push the power button and the Sony light and the green light will turn on and there is no sound, screen, or backlight. After waiting for about 5 to 10 seconds the Sony light turns off...Last edited by bigtony5858; 01-11-2014, 07:10 PM.

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4 Problem
Ok I understand now. So if this cap is no good can I replace it? Or when you say it shorted out the circuit does that mean there is damage else where? OOnce again thank you so much for your help! This information is so very interesting to me :-)...

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4 Problem
okay I'm a little confused. Can you explain why a ceramic chip could short circuit and fail but still be good? I apologize for my lack of knowledge in electrical components like this :-( just an FYI The red dye ceramic chip is on the bottom of power supply and the corrosion on the Vias is known the main board which I ordered a new one this evening....

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4 Problem
A post from another forum that I thought might help figure out what that is???
If you look in that picture there is an identical component list as C6307 and you can see a small red dot below it. The reason I thought it could be damaged is because i researched how these ceramic chip capacitors fail and it is through cracks and the only real way to tell is through a tiny microscope or dye penetrate testing. what do you think?
I also agree with you that the corrosion in that area the more I look at it the more...Last edited by bigtony5858; 01-08-2014, 06:15 PM.

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4 Problem
This is the information on that small piece, but I just can't tell if it blown or not?
C6305 1-162-964-11 CERAMIC CHIP 0.001μF 10% 50V
Also I actually just ordered that exact board from shop jimmy :-) it was to cheap to pass up.

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4 Problem
HELP!
I think I may have found something on the power supply, but I cannot tell what it is/ if it supposed to look like this????? It was on the bottom and labeled C6305. I am assuming this means this is a capacitor, but I cannot tell if it is supposed to look like this with all this red die around it?????
Thank you again everyone!
