I'm trying to troubleshoot my father's Sharp for him. A while back it wouldn't turn on. The red light indicating standby (I think) was lit but neither the remote or physical power button would turn it on.

After unplugging/replugging it to attempt a power cycle the red light went out and wouldn't come back on and the TV was still unresponsive.

I tried 2 other power cables and other outlets.

So basically I'm at the stage now where I've opened it up but I'm not sure what I'm doing.

Based on some other threads I've seen I guess the best thing...

Found this site after searching for info to help with an issue with a Sharp Aquos TV power issue. Thought I'd join and hopefully benefit from some of the very knowledge people here.
