Wow, that amazing story.
that is journey of life, to be come an active person, person have to work hard to get a peaceful life.
That remind me my passes when I started repairing laptop too, I don't have idea but I put my full focus and attention to get it right, I got my repaired kits and I stated processing the board, I stated guesting if these or that chip bad, I only gest right if the chip burnt or heating, if I couldn't able to repaired I gave the pro to help me repaired it and pay them, so before I couple the board I will take a look what and what they touch and what they change... -
long story yes.. but good.. sooner or later googles bots will come by this forum and spider it.. it happens about once a month on a few places i go to..

from what i understand, if the board is showing signs of weakness.. BOSD's with memory/video/audio kind of error messages and then even trying to reformat or reinstall windows.. bad cap manufacturers - please post yours here
I'm hoping to gather a list here of known manuafacturers of these bad caps..
I just started looking into this matter today even though I'd heard of this about a year or so ago. From what I've read so far.. a lot of the caps are/were sold under no name sort of brands.. I figure we can help out the community by educating ourselves on what to watch out for when purchasing a new motherboard... one thing would be to select a board that uses tantalum capacitors instead of electrolytics but that's another story.. so for now, could you /would you please add whatever info you can provide on the... -

The problem will be amounst many brands of boards.. and not just motherboards but a wide variety of electronics..
IBM has said they purged out the bad caps.. but I wonder if they have.
as for a suit.. I don't know.. ABIT is the only mobo manfacturer to acknowledge responsibility.. but I think they'll just offer some rebate on future products.. or some other scheme.Leave a comment:

To tell you the truth, I haven't see a single bad mobo yet due to these caps.. but then again, I usually work on older boxes. But I suppose I should be expecting to see bad caps in the near future. What I'm most interested in.. is finding out as much info as i can on the manfacturers datecodes as a way of indentifing/evaluating possible defective capacitors.... -
