hello
I found this forum researching how to fix my bricked laptop. I'm about to finish my CS undergrad, but it has not prepared me for the world of corrupt bios images and microscopic pins. I've spent entirely too many hours googling, reading forums, watching youtube videos, and fumbling around non-consumer software in hopes of brute force research and trial and erroring my way to victory, so I'm finally doing what I should have done months ago and requesting assistance. Regardless, I'm shocked by how active this forum is and the scope of the topics discussed, glad to have found it.Comment

Howdy all,
My name is Chewie (you can probably visualize what I look like based on that), and I'm a relative newbie in the electronics repair and modification space. A friend of mine runs a business repairing and modifying vintage video game consoles and is always swamped with work, so I have taken up the call to action to make myself dangerous and help them out.
My day job is unrelated to the above, so I classify myself as a hobbyist.
I look forward to learning as much as I can from this incredible forum and it's denizens.
Cheers,
ChewieComment

Hello everyone! My name's Joe, I'm a hobbyist that does some repair work on the side. I've worked on automotive electronics ( clusters, ecus/modules), Ive also repaired cnc plasma machines and various other equipment/consoles.
I'll do what I can to share and help with what I know as I learn what I can from you all!
It's my pleasure to be apart of this forum and community.
Sincerely,
JoeComment

My obligatory intro will be short. Soon to be retired FAA Safety Inspector, retired Air Force avionics tech, drummer/percussionist and wanna-be fixer of anything that breaks. I tinker with vintage gear and try to be helpful to anyone I meet.
My poor memory keeps me humble and asking kind folks like you for help!

Hi everyone, I'm a normal helpdesk type IT guy but I want to learn more about board repair. I made my first attempt at diagnosing a dead laptop, but shorted something with my probe and turned an epoxied in TPM chip into a frying pan... A lot to learn...Comment

My name is Lukas
I am a student who enjoys working with small electronics in my free time alongside my studies. I like building, repairing, and experimenting with electronic components, as it allows me to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical way. This hobby has strengthened my technical skills and increased my interest in technology and engineering.
Currently, I am working on a Dell LA-L655P mainboard, but unfortunately I am stuck. The board has an active PROCHOT signal caused by the ISL9522 controller, and the battery is not charging. If anyone has tips or experience with this issue, I would really appreciate some help or advice.
Best Wishes LukasComment

Hi everyone! Just joined from the land of Oz.
Wish I found this forum earlier! I have some experience with replacing/soldering BIOS chips and I've been playing with a CH341 (also recently picked up an SPI-25xx tool to try and flash 32 pin voodoo 3 bios chips). But I have no experience with editing bios files or flashing from virgin bios files etc. I have a lot of reading to do!Comment
