Got three more APC units (BK650EI, SU620INET, SMT750RMI2U).

If you're looking for a decent UPS: my UPS is a Xantrex PROsine 2500 with 0/1 cables running through the wall to an outdoor steel cabinet full of Walmart truck batteries. It outputs a sine wave (if it's isolated during measurement) even at its safety trip point of 118VAC 29+ amps which is substantially more than its rated 2500W. It can (and has) run my PC, monitor, Asterisk server, network, and rework station, for 4 days straight. It didn't turn on its cooling fans until power was back and it had to recharge all those batteries. Those Xantrex guys sell the good stuff.

I also just got a "UNGE" sine wave inverter from the wee folk in Shenzhen. $130 means I didn't expect it to really produce 600W sine waves. I was wrong. This thing outperforms its specs by a bit less than 15% (I pushed it until it just started to clip, then backed off a little). It did that for two hours w/o overheating. It uses squirrely parts, and I'll be replacing those in a few years, but this might be a Xantrex Killer. Add two $20 Advance Auto economy car batteries and I get a 600W sine wave UPS that can run for hours for only $170.

Ancient BK400EC added. I've also started measuring inverter efficiency (at least roughly for some general idea) under full load, where possible, this has also been added for the BK650EI.

                                      Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
                                      M:1.00/11107BLP
                                      D:?.??/????????
                                      O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

Looks like I may need a little help from the PSU experts (or anyone really! ) I have a Corsair CX750M (Model 75-002019) that I picked up for free about 4 years ago. This is the PSU:

So here’s what’s strange about this one: it appears to work normally (normal output voltages) and any PC is stable with it. However, after a while (typically 10-20 minutes, but time can vary depending on the load), there is a sweetish smell of burned magnet wire insulation emanating from the PSU. Upon opening the PSU after this happened (many times), I was able to confirm...

Greetings, I have a Sharp LC-60LE633U when powered up only the V light comes on. I have checked the LED strips and they all light up. When the LED's are plugged into the PS board I get an output voltage of 74v DC. If I unplug the LED's the output voltage on the PS is 184v DC. Does this indicate a weak PS?

Greetings, I have a Sharp LC-60LE633U when powered up only the V light comes on. I have checked the LED strips and they all light up. When the LED's are plugged into the PS board I get an output voltage of 74v DC. If I unplug the LED's the output voltage on the PS is 184v DC. Does this indicate a weak PS?
                                      Thanks
