Ever seen like this with plamsa problem?

All power supplies working, no fuses blown and getting waveforms of some kind but all heatsinks on Y-SUS, Z-SUS and X-SUS are cool, no picture at all or no dim glow at all. Even checked LVDS waveforms and are there. I had tried a new logic board with no luck.

I put estimate for plasma panel replacement.

Want comments. This is one stumps me. I not had this like that before.

Does not matter, many plasma panel makers are same in concept on how plasma panel is lit up. I was asking ever seen this before? I have no idea what it looks like if panel gone up to air. Remember it has bit of gases and mercury vapor.

Re: Ever seen like this with plamsa problem?

I've never seen it before, and in spite of reading several training manuals, I don't have a good grasp of where the power is dissipated. Obviously, a significant part of it goes to generate the plasma discharge. But I would think that driving the various electrodes at high frequencies would also dissipate some power.

The only experiment that comes to mind is to take a working plasma TV and providing the signal for a pitch black screen. If the heat sinks stay cool, you have demonstrated that the symptoms match a vented panel. If they still heat up about like a working TV, it unlikely that a vented panel is the problem.

Plasma needs to be just at pre-charge level (hence the very dim lit) on black. The heatsink will heat up but not as much. I can tell by careful look and this TV with this problem did not light up dimly even with no signal from LVDS. BTW: Full white is full load.

Wiz, do you have a power consumption meter on hand?
Hook up the plasma through and measure power. This will give a clue if there's more powerdissipation than you think.

Problem with LG Plasma 60PM6700 - Random power downs
                by theone111
I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
                1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
                2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.
                3. Problem: TV shuts down

The laptop was turned off because the MOSFET was not transmitting voltage. After checking it turned out that the gate pin on the MOSFET was the problem, because it was producing an inappropriate voltage. and it was discovered that the problem was with the Think engine, so I decided to reprint each pin, and finally the mosfet could work properly. However, there is another problem, even though the voltage has been supplied to the laptop, it still won't turn on, there isn't even an LED indicator. After double...

                Lenovo T580 - LCD Panel problem - error 0288
                by perzyk23
                Good morning,
I have a problem with Lenovo T580, which after error code 0288 suggests a problem with the display. I checked the display and it works on another laptop. I replaced the display cable with a new one. I programmed another BIOS (downloaded from this forum) and I still have the problem of a dead display - there is an image via HDMI, and the system does not detect the built-in LCD at all. The problem appears to be hardware. What can I check to confirm or disprove this? I found many threads on the Internet related to this problem 0288, but without specific solutions. Please advise....

                Dell 15R-5521 keyboard problem (KBC?)
                by SDNarcia
Hello, I have a Dell 15R-5521, with the problem that the Ctrl, Alt, Shitf and Num Lock keys do not work, I tested the keyboard with a keyboard tester and it is functional, I also got another new keyboard and the computer has the same problem with the same keys. Check continuity between the ZIF connector from the keyboard to the KBC and all pins are correct. I cleaned the ZIF connector and the KBC and I still have the same problem. I reinstalled windows just in case, and it didn't work. I updated the BIOS to the latest version A16 and there were no changes.

                As additional information,...
