Hello all, brand new to this forum and all this tech repair. I've always been interested in tech and learning more than than average person and well, I guess this is my chance!
- Forgive me as I will likely not be using the proper terms throughout this post, again, I am a newbie to all this!
I noticed a few "LED Bulbs" falling out of place behind my TVs screen a few weeks ago. After some research I find how to quickly glue them back into place. I finished the work and when putting my TV back together I accidentally cracked the very corner of the display . Very sad.
After putting everything back into place and turning on the display the displayed video now jumps around everywhere. After more research I found this could be due to some "bad ribbon display connection" - the gold pin things that some people cover with tape for a quick cheap fix. Well I don't think this is the problem as I tested both ribbons and bith sides of the TV display a white streaky picture. I believe 1 ribbon would display half a perfect image and the other ribbon display a half faulty image. I am not 100% sure on this though.
So my primary question is this - does the crack along the edge of the display cause the screen to jump around and if so is there a repair? I understand that the crack itself will cause a black spot on the display (which you can slightly see in the video) that is likely not repairable and that is okay, I can get past that small black spot. It is just the display jumping around that ruins the entire TV.
I've uploaded a few pictures and a video. Hopefully this helps. Please advice as what I can do if anything or direct me to a helpful resource. Thank you so much!
EDIT: My MP4 of the jumping display will not post. Have uploaded a screengrab of the video for now.
