TV is now 3 years old.
We bought it arround 05/2019
It worked flawlessly, no problems and now this.

On the T-con board, check the voltage at the control points designated V15/ V25, etc.Comment

You need to check t-con voltages and data lines. But I would suggest getting a new t-con.I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

this one worked fine, then I think I went to switch from tv to hdmi source, them bam no video or backlight, no warning and no acting strange like some will do before a problem gets worse, just straight from working fine to that problem described.Comment

HDMI ARC is only for audio channel return right ?
So i can't connect this tv to another display to check if OS is working correctly.

Dont play any more with ribbons... you will damage them. take out the white heat sink of the MB Soc. and tell which type MT or MS.. also you have several Fuse on MB which are with F marked.. need to check them all with yours DMM, also remove the WIFI usb from MB and do hard reset again..Comment

Motherboard works 100%.
I can hear all the sounds and even picture is decoding.

I'm having almost the exact same issue with a Sony Android TV. Have replaced power board and mainboard so I think they can be ruled out. Left right panel ribbon behavior the exact same as you when they are removed.
I'm thinking it could be a dead TCON as well as a dead panel. Did you ever fix this?Comment

Disconnect lvds cable and make a jumper from mainboard 12v out and tcon 12v in, or mask every pin ov lvds cable except 12v, then turn on, screen should perform a self visual test..Comment

Update. Just did the tape trick, got video for about 10 minutes while I went through the android TV setup. Then all of a sudden green horizontal bands and the display goes black. Can still hear the android menu music but no picture again. So panel issue confirmed? Hopefully that wasn't the panel nuking my TCON board cause I tried to make it work...Comment

i can suspect your tape trick was not done well and/or you can have a partial shorted cap/diode on panel's distribution boards..Comment

Great guess. Just had a very small bit of tape on pin 1 and it must have moved. Used a bigger bit of tape over pins 1-4 and we have picture back again. What's the downside to covering up more than a single pin? Worse image quality?Comment

Hello, Last week I bought the 50" Sony X80j tv everything was working fine, untill I plugged the tv in a ups power supply 650va the tv remote control became unresponsive and the TV became laggy after a while the picture quality isn't the same as before the tv seems less brighter and the picture is somehow blurry, people's faces don't look as natural as before, there is a mini orange-pink tint to the edge of people's faces especially in NETFLIX Dolby Vision like in One Piece ep1 Alvida skin tone, my intention was to protect the tv but something went wrong I checked the ups with a multimeter,... -
Previous owner said TV just went blank one day.
They attempted to open the back panel and yanked the power connector off the power supply in the meantime.
Easily fixed that and got the TV to turn on. Backlights come one with everything connected. Good Sign.
The mainboard shows signs of life (red light on digital audio out is on) but that's about it. Good Sign.
There is not blinking LED and the most importantly there is LED response and sound when I press the MENU button on remote control. GREAT Sign.

I was watching youtube yesterday, when I paused it to go to the washroom. When I came back, the right side of the screen was showing half of the youtube channel and the left was black. I powered off/on the unit with the remote and now I have no picture whatsoever except for the bluish backlight. I did the factory reset (power + vol down), and now I when I power on I get the startup music, backlight but no picture.

I have a 65" newer (2021 model) that has no sign of life. No backlight, no front LED (assuming it has one) and no audio or turn on chime.

The CN6401 Connector has the following vitals:
STBY_3.3V is 3.432 V
BL_ON low (0.153 V)
BL_ERR low (0.051V)
POWER_ON 3.42 V (as soon as I plug it into the wall this comes on)
REG12V pins 12.7 V
TCON_VCC12V pins low (0.11V)
TCON_ON low (0.155)
Large caps are at 392V as soon as I plug into power
Seems like a Mainboard... -
Hello! I would like to repair my father's Sony Bravia KDL-40v4100 LCD TV. It was in perfect working order the last time I used it before the pandemic. Then it sat plugged in but unused for a year or more. And now everything still works except that there is no picture on the screen. A relay can be heard to click when the power cable is connected. When the power button is pressed there is a green power LED and then the backlight turns on. If I connect an HDMI cable and play something with audio I can hear it through the speakers. The remote control buttons are recognized. There is just never anything...
