Replaced backlights on a 43UJ6300 but there was a scratch near the middle of the screen which I didn't notice with the backlights blue. I discounted the price but still having trouble selling it. I thought of using a magic eraser to buff it out but worried it could cause more damage. Found a youtube video showing success with this technique so tried it. Used it dry and sanded in the direction of the scratch and it worked! Relisting the TV for full price!

Re: Light Scratch Removal Success with Magic Eraser
I never use magic eraser dry. As in auto-body prep work, always wet-sand with very very fine sand papers before painting.
Same concept applies here. Use a small bit of water. Not dripping wet. Squeeze wet magic eraser in a tower before use.
Less friction, and you will be happy with result.
I use small circular motions to blend to surrounding area.
Sanding in direction of scratch promotes making the existing scratch deeper. Try using circular motion.
More or less time will depend on depth of scratch/gouge.
Best of luckComment

No point posting since the panel looks perfect. Can't really tell where the scratch was.
If you can't find them in Europe, pretty sure you can order from Aliexpress under melamine foam or sponge. I use them to clean soap scum from glass shower doors. They are also popular for cleaning sneakers and have lots of uses. Just checked Aliexpress and $4 for 20 pieces.Last edited by neilc6; 03-19-2022, 12:48 AM.Comment

Re: Light Scratch Removal Success with Magic Eraser
oh thanks..
how about reflection? a screen with tactile scratch is one with plastic polarizer instead of painted polarizer, the first is matte surface, does the product gives a glossier aspect? The painted polarizer is glossy for information..
was it a light or deep scratch?Last edited by Davi.p; 03-19-2022, 02:26 AM.Comment

Re: Light Scratch Removal Success with Magic Eraser
Any screen scratches I tend to use tcut which is a car paint cleaner. I used it for cleaning the headlights on the glass of the car which did a great job for a car MOT the garage mechanic was duly impressed.
So with that in mind I used on a few 17inch monitors with a few scratches and abrasions from a corporate client which did the trick. The only minor issue is the screen looks slightly glossy where it has been used. So with any TV screens that are scratched it gets the tcut treatment!Comment

by TimScrawnHi there,
This is my first post. I just wanted to come here to get a clear answer from some people about MDM removal on the 16 inch 2019 A2141 MBP & 15 inch 2018 MBP A1990. I have seen a lot of things on MDM removal, and wanted to know exactly what is needed to remove it, and what the best option is in 2024 when running Sonoma.
I know that Checkm8 have an MDM removal service now, that seems to be a permanent removal. I also have heard you can remove the T2 ROM and use a programmer to read the data and change the serial number. Im not 100 percent sure if this is a...06-23-2024, 09:41 AM -

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by Badpatch02Hi all, I'm new here, a few words about myself: CS student, interested in hardware stuff too - tinkering my whole life but with practically no experience when it comes to firmware "hacking".
So I have this X380 Yoga with a supervisor password in place and before doing anything stupid I figured I'd rather ask.
I plan on using the tool from this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...password-remov...-

by acedogblastThis is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.
There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as... - Loading...
