    toshiba 40l1354b

    Hi
1st of all thankyou for any advise going forward, I really appreciate any help and taking your time to answer.
I have the above lcd tv, and currently having issues with it switching on.
When powering up, the power indicator blinks red/green 3 times then pauses then blinks again about 5 times then goes a solid green.
    Nothing on the screen...totally black.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I,ve searched for a couple of days for the wiring diagrams, nothing found, but alot of issues by other people pointed me here...
    Thankyou

      Hi thanks for the reply..
I carnt find the flash fault codes anywhere relevant to this model.
      I've looked everywhere..
Or do you think it might be a generic flash code for all toshiba,s.
      Cheers

Does it have backlights? Image on screen using torch using "UK terms" ?
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

A wild guess would be you have some bad led's.

TV turning on with no backlights is a sign of bad backlights. Replace them all with new since they wear and burn out just like light bulbs. On Toshibas, bad backlights can also damage the power supply (seen this at least twice). If both are damaged, replacing both power supply and backlights could cost more than the TV is worth. If you are lucky, a LED could have failed open circuit which would act like a fuse and protect the power supply.

                  Hi
                  Thanks for the info.
Had it a few years now, but broke just after the warrantee, so thought about it as a project, as its immaculate.
Just ordered a led tester and i,'ll keep you updated and thanks again for taking the time to help..much appreciated

i repaird one of these sets a while ago the full led strip kit was about £30.00 from china takes about 4 weeks for delivery you will need to strip the panel and find what strip numbers this set uses.

                      Hi
Will do and thanks, I might look into making a led tester.
Any idea where I can get schematics of the power board, ie correct voltage etc.
                      Thanks in advance

What power supply number is used in your TV i think it maybe a 17PW07 2
Common issue sometimes with these Panels is the little connector blocks that link the Led strings break down and fail so you need to bridge them over with solid wire and then test the Leds

                          Hi
                          Yes 17PW07 v2
Looked at eBay, and there selling from £16 - £30
But I don't really like buying this sort of thing off there as your taking a risk of buying another faulty board, so would rather go down to component level and fix it myself.
As it's a nightmare getting your money back.
                          Thanks

more than likely you will find its a failed led or connection joint have you stripped a lcd panel down before?

Usually the blinking LEDs (red / green) on the Vestel platform is due to a firmware failure.

                                    Hi
No I haven't, but I,m can hold my own in electronics,as I fix gaming consoles, laptops, white goods etc, and I'm a electrical engineer by trade, so it will be a good learning curve.
It doesn't phase me, and I'm quite looking forward to it,
As a kid I was really into electronics, but haven't used it for a while.
I'm used to million pound pieces of kit in food factories, safety circuits and motors and such like, so it it,'ll be a wander down memory lane.

But I've never ventured into tv's, as its considered a throw away commodity.
But I think I need to stretch the grey matter and give myself a project.
So a bit green around the gills on this subject..
Thanks so much for all your inputs, it's much appreciated.
