Westinghouse WG50UR4100 Am I getting scammed?

I sold a mainboard kit to a TV repair place and the owner claims it doesn't work; He sends me this picture of a dual screen. Is this even possible??? He is asking for a refund, I don't mind giving him his money back if it indeed didn't work. The board came out of a TV with a knick in the screen. You could still see the whole screen and it was a good image, only trouble was the cracking. I googled "dual screen android tv" and found its sort of possible... ??

But... this is weird. Not sure how this can be... if the TCON only shows the left and right side of the tv, how did he get both screens..? Is this a magical mainboard that shows dual screens? I admit, I'm a novice, but....

Please have a look and let me know what you think, thanks.

Software does not match for the T-CON Bd and the Panel.

Say that he should be caution when matching part numbers. Matching only board number dosen't work. Ask for him to return the board. Or call westinghouse and ask for the firmware of the tv.

Yeah. I got scammed. I got the board returned to me from the buyer. I video recorded opening the box, etc. Seems he took the eeprom and a couple transistors... and of course, its ebay so I have to refund the entire amount with shipping. Ebay used to be a great place... anyhow, still not sure how he doubled up the screen. But it was def a scam.

If you recorded opening the return package and the missing components, I'd argue the case with ebay.

I would agree with Diif and put your case to Ebay.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Sadly, I recorded opening the box, only. Jerk even took the bubble wrap and threw all components in the box. So, I didn't record the board. I found out what he did when I tried to hook it up to test. had to look a lot closer.
P.S. Still trying to figure out how he got dual screens, going to send the image to a photoshop forum lol.

EDIT: What gets me about the image now, is that the loading rings appear in a different loop/loading.. the loading circle on the right is further advanced by a smidge. Same processor cant do this.. Can it?

                JVC LT-39CA120 - Vestel 17MB171 - Android boot loop
                by Grut
                Hi everyone,

My JVC (Vestel) LED TV is stuck on a Android boot loop when I switch the power on.

Previously, I was trying to clean the storage memory (by deleting as many files as possible), I may have delete some start-up Android files.....so I screw it.🤡

When I switch the power on, the initial JVC is shown. I have tried to run Android 9 from a bootable USB on the TV. It starts reading the USB but nothing happens and the JVC logo and Android boot loop keeps the same.

Can anybody help me please finding the 17MB171 USB firmware to try to upload...

Issues with new Surface Pro 5 screens
                by diamon
I have three Microsoft Surface Pro 5 model 1796, with all cracked screens.
Have bought from Aliexpress three new screens, the part numbers from my and the seller are the same:

Bad working China screen part number:

Good working own screen part number

Error I get with the bad working China screen:

No error with the good working own screen:

All the three China screens (all the same exact part numbers) produce the same error in Device manager. Have also performed a clean installation...

Hisense 55Q9G Android reset / factory firmware reload
                by mon2
Hello. Have a 55" Hisense TV that starts to load the Android OS (no backlight issues) -> reaches the app screen where you can view the assorted icons including Netflix and always crashes at the same point just after this launch. If I quickly press the cursor buttons, the cursor can navigate to the settings menu but will power off just after a few seconds of this activity. Do not believe it is power related since the crash is very accurate in the boot cycle.

After the OS 'crashes', the power does go off and the from white LED goes dark for about 20 seconds and then ON again....

Factory Reset Westinghouse WG55UR4100 Android TV
                by neilc6
I repaired the backlights on this model (symptom flash of backlights, repaired seven bad, part#3P55TA004-A2 new strips available at Shopjimmy) and now the TV is stuck on the home screen. I can only turn the TV on with the remote and no buttons work once booted on the home screen. Only the TV buttons volume -/+ and on/off work. There is no physical menu or input buttons.

I think a factory reset will clear it but not a lot of options. Tried the Sony Android methods of holding down the on/off button while plugging it it and holding down vol- with power on/off....

How do modern TVs with Android/WebOS/Roku/etc boot? Debug ports?
                by jchon
Hi I'm having issues trying to get my Sony A1E to power on.

Which made me wonder, how involved is Android in the booting of the TV?

I'm basing this information on what I can glean from the service manual:

In my Sony A1E for example I see:
BKA which houses the main processor and along with the input/outputs.
DKA which possibly does up-conversion, in the block diagram I see VX1 coming in from the BKA and out to the TCON
TCON timing board which drives the actual panel.

                On the BKA there's a sub-system called the U-COM...
