This PSU is used on the 8404 series (42" and larger models) as well. There's an electrolytic cap underneath the tunnelshaped cooling plate, which is known to go bad.
Not the best place to put an electrolytic cap...

Thanks for your answer. I have already checked those 4 HV capacitors and both appearance and value seem correct. These 4 caps according to the scheme are used in the out volt-current-arcs inverter supervision sub-circuits. I have seen PS with caps problems and the look of those capacitors was very bad, but...Leave a comment:

I have a problem with the back-light on a 12-years-old PHILIPS 42PFL7404 TV with DELTA DPS-298 power supply. Screen time is 11000h. A month ago the image started to flicker slightly and after a minute it turned off, but keeping the audio. It was necessary to disconnect from the line to turn it on again, with the same symptoms (Error code:17). The PSU seems to have all the components and welds fine. For a while I ran it without the back cover and it held up well without shutting down. With a heat fan I looked for the susceptible area and found it in the return circuit and supervision of the power supply (everything related to the zener IC953 and the opto PC901); when warming in for 5 " at 100ºC the same phenomenon occurred and it turned off.
If anyone has had this problem or experience with this power supply I would appreciate an answer.Attached FilesPremium supporters get full download access and other benefits.

I raised the question of whether PWM on the power board "dim" pin would be a reasonable assumption for controlling the backlight of a Philips TV (55put6101/12): https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...d-tv-backlight. I didn't receive any insights there so I went ahead and tried it.
The setup is basically:
Rpi3 hardware PWM → 220 Ohm → NPN transistor → dim pin
Transistor is switching the 3.5 V supply on the power board.... -
Hello, after a storm i notice tv is not working. Only backlight when i turn it on. If i press button on the back fot menu, backlight change. So tv menu and fuctionality is working i guess.

So i'm trying to replace the LED's in a Philips TV. It's 42" with a 715g7262-p01-000-0010 backlight driver board based around an O2 Micro OZ9902CGN.
My issue is when I replace all the LED's on one board with the new 3V 300ma ones they immediately burn out when the set is powered again. I previously tried the same thing with 6V LED's and the backlight flickered for a bit but wouldn't start.
The original LED's which I removed which are still working start to melt and burn when given more than 3V on DCPS so I know they shouldn't be higher voltage ones.

I'd like to repair a Philips 55PUS6704.
It turns on and you can see the backlight, hear the sound but no picture.
When I disconnect one of the T-con cables, half of the screen turns white.
right cable disconnected= right side white
left cable disconnected= left side white
When I tape like 6 or 7 pins of one cable it looks like the picture attached. I already tried another T-con board without success.
There are no shorts on the the mainbaord and the two lcd panel boards...at leat I couldn't find any.

First of all, please excuse me as I'm quite new to this field.
I have a Philips 55PUS6804/12 TV. It turns on and off instantly (backlight flash). I personally think it's a backlight issue (faulty LEDs). Could you help me confirm my diagnosis?
I've checked and the T-CON seems to be fine. I disconnected one ribbon cable at a time at the bottom, but the problem persists.
The Ambilight works perfectly and stays on.
No sounds.
