    LG Flashing Backlights

    Hi All

Got this LG 32LN5130 . The red standby led flashes 3 times then the backlighs flash on for a fraction of a second. Then it repeats the sequence. Have stripped it down and find all LEDs are good. (tested with LED checker)

Also if i unplug lead from main board, LEDs do not come on.

    Can anybody help

    Thanks

    Re: LG Flashing Backlights

    1. The backlight ignition motherboard disconnect test is valid for Samsung not LG.
    2. Even if the LEDs light up with the tester, the test is not conclusive. You have LEDs with increased consumption.
    3. Replace the LED strips, reduce the current through them and solve the problem for several years.
    4. Measure if, when the backlight goes out, there is still voltage on the BL-ON pin (3-5V).
    5. You can force the backlink by putting a + (3-5v) on the BL-ON pin. You can take the voltage through a 1Kohm resistor from the stb pin.

Take a video of LEDs turning on/off. Then go frame by frame and find where LEDs are turning off. See if there is one single LED going off before others.
      Do this with panel removed.

Also, without replacing LED strips, you can do steps 4-5 described above by yokoono.
You can find service manual at electrotanya.
There are 2 pins,"power on " and "DRV on". Not sure which one will turn on LEDs. Try 1K from 3.5V to each of these separately or use two 1K's to both.

Can we also see the pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards?

          HI thanks for the replies

          I take it that drv-on is bl-on

When the lights flash on and its only for a fraction of a second, the pwr-on and the drv-on
voltages drops. I attached 3 volts to the bl-on and the lights come on but are flickering

I then put a 39 ohm resistor in series with the lights and they stayed on

On further exploration i fitted a diode 1N5822 in series and the lights stay on . So it looks as if one of the LEDs is faulty. Yet they all light up and all give the same brightness

I am not surprised if it has bad LED/LEDs on these LN series.

Wilke i had the lights on I noticed that one of the heat sinks on the PSU was getting very hot. checking around I found D104 was SC. replaced it and all lights are now on without the diode

                Thanks

Could we get a picture of the faulty diode in the mother board for future reference?

pioneer A-307R flashing leds on front panel, possible short
                      by crea2k
I have a pioneer A-307R here and what it does is flash all of the leds on the front and nothing more.

I got the thermal camera out on it and saw that Q451 was getting hot, so I removed it and the lights now come on as normal, but obviously that part of the amp doesn't work.

I tried replacing it, but it goes back to its flashing lights thing again.

I noticed too that on the back of the board R465 - R467 - R 469 are all getting red hot (over 100 degrees C)

Im guessing I have a short here somewhere, but so far I have not managed to find...

                      Hi,

I am trying to fix this DK10FG board for a friend. It is not powering up.

When I plug-in power adapter, its DC IN led and Caps lock start flashing. Even cpu fan gets on/off kick like flashing leds. No battery attached. Nothing happens on pressing power button. I checked the charger IC and it seems fine. (ACOK - 3.3v). Re-programmed the bios but no luck.

I checked SIO chip NPCE885LA0DX and here's the reading

                      19,46,76,88,115 | P3V3AL_R --> 3.3v

                      Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

                      by Chrissygizmo
Hi all, I have a polaroid p49fn0038k, I originally thought the problem was just a straight forward backlight replacement, however this isn't the case..

When I power it up, the backlights flash on for a split second, I've tested the backlight strips and all are fine, I can see the polaroid symbol on the screen using a torch light....

Any help would be greatly appreciated

                      Thanks in advance

First I replaced the backlights. Then I found three bulging capacitors, one leaking, on the power supply board. Now, when I turn on the tv, the picture flashes with an image and then the picture goes away. I can unplug the tv and plug it back in, turn it on and the same thing happens. Please help. Thanks!
