    Samsung LA32R71B Picture Issue

    Hi,

I have a Samsung LA32R71B 32" LCD TV, it works great, however, sometimes, the image is getting distorted as seen in the photo below. However, I can easily fix it by gently tapping on the right lower side of the back of the TV.
From what I can see from photos and videos, that's where the power supply on this TV is.

Can anyone point me out in the right direction to fix this issue?
The fact that it is intermittent and that can be fixed by a tap at the back gives me hope that it's not a serious issue and that the TV can be saved and fixed.

    Thanks!

    The issue when it manifests:

Take the back cover off, check all cable and ribbon connections, maybe clean the connectors with some isoprophyl alcohol if that and re-seating the connectors doesnt work, take powerboard out and check the solder joints on the underside, never force off a connector or cable, youtube is your friend for how to videos. can google images of bad solder joints if needed.

      Thanks for the help!

I was thinking, could this be a faulty capacitor in the power supply?
I've seen that on this particular model, the only thing installed on that side is the power supply unit.

I don't know, maybe try heating up the capacitors on the powerboard with a hairdryer, see if the image clears up if only for a bit.

The issue is not permanent, the TV works fine for days and then starts to act up, but one gentle tap on the right back side and it's back to working fine for days.

            Re: Samsung LA32R71B Picture Issue

It sounds like you may have an issue with the tab bonding at that location to the panel from the panel circuit board if a tap at the edge of the panel resolves the issue.

Fitting a shim may solve this issue. A search of the forum will give more information.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

It's not at the edge of the panel, it's more like on the lower back side of the TV, right around where the power supply is. At this point i'm just trying to figure out what could be wrong and if I can fix it.

Hoping it is either a connector that is not seated properly anymore or a capacitor that is on it's last days.

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
                  by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

                  Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

                  First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

Samsung Series 9 - BIOS issue
                  by Kjell
After installing Linux, I can no longer enter the BIOS of my Samsung Series 9 (NP900X3C) laptop. When pressing [F2] during boot I simply get a black screen. Same thing when pressing [F10] and choosing "Setup" from the "App Menu" tab. Apparently this is a relatively common issue with Samsung laptops of that generation, but unfortunately i haven't been able to resolve the issue (yet).

Things i've tried so far; reinstalled Windows 10, checked for redundant boot entries, tried to factory reset using the emergency keyhole, attempted to clear the NVRAM by physically...

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
                  by TR103
                  Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                  - sound and backlight, but no picture
                  - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                  - it keeps rebooting
                  - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                  - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                  - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                  - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...
