Hitachi 50hyt62u-k tcon or driver boards ?

    Hi everyone.

This is my latest problem, I have a Hitachi 50HYT62U-K tv. I was informed off the previous owner that it had been squirted with water.

I originally thought it was going to be a right off and I would be stripping it, but I've messaged around with it and I've had a good picture on it earlier.

I have got the problem down to either the tcon board, ribbon cable or driver/buffer board (Not sure what they are called) . I have messed around with it with hammer hands & I've managed to snap 3 of the clips that keep the ribbon cables in place on the tcon and driver boards so I've been using plastic strips to try keeping pressure on the cables , when I turn the tv on and rub along the ribbons I've had a split second of a good full screen picture. I will upload screenshots of the video I took while doing this. I would be really grateful for any help on this.

    Thanks for your time

Guess the place to start would be a replacement tcon, a lot of times they're pretty reasonably priced.

      Hi

Thanks for your input, I'm going to have a go at glueing down the ribbons from the top obviously so I don't get the connections dirty to see if that works first. I'm not sure if it's a good idea so I will wait for a comment first

I'm going to try glueing down the ribbons to try and get even pressure over the length of the strip first, I'm just not too sure if it's a good idea incase I make the problem worse ( like I usually do ) . Just waiting on a comment first before I go ahead

            I don't think it's a good idea myself.

If you glue them down and it works then great, but if it fails would the ribbons be in a fit state to attach to a replacement board?
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

I have found the problem (or probably caused this problem) ... The ic on one of the ribbons that feed the screen from the tcon board has burned out, melting a small hole in the ribbon, I definitely had a full screen picture on a couple of occasions when messing around with the driver board ribbons, but I'm sure I saw a brief smoke signal while doing this, now I know the screen is kaput unless there's a way of renewing the ribbon.

This may work if you're up for it. Example of cof bypass there, might need to find one that gives a better step by step process but there's a lot of such videos on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YacI7hWWKJw

Would be best to start a new tread since its a different TV although an identical problem.

Three 820-01700 32GB Logic Boards Same Issue: Won't Wake From Hibernate
                            by ugamazing
I have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!

We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre...

Hello, this is my first post and im just a beginner, so be easy on me guy. thanks

i have a LED chandeilier that switches colors from white to cool white to warm when toggling the switch, it has 24 LED arms, each arm is 30 CM length.

i have no datasheet at all for the LED lights, all i have is its length.

long story short, testing the chandelier on the ground, and it works fine for 1 - 2 - 6 hours, no problem.

as soon as i fix the chandelier to the ceiling and bury the driver inside the hub,...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
                            by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board

This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

                            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
