    LG 43UK6090 no image

Suspect bad panel, but looking for advices especially from those familiar with this model.
TV is turning on, there is backlight and sound.
    The picture is grey.
Main supply voltage to the panel (big electrolytic cap) is quickly is turning off after power up, but it stays on on if panel is disconnected.
I checked for shorts, nothing obvious.
There are few types of panels and main boards used in this model, mine is with 2 panel connectors inwards like here:

Please attach the pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards and the screen shot of the panel when TV is turned on so we can see what we are dealing with.

          Re: LG 43UK6090 no image

I removed the panel, no cracks at all.
See attached pictures, one of them shows lines when TV is turning on. After that it goes steady grey.
Image is always grey no matter what cable to panel is connected.
But power supply shuts down only if the right side (looking from the front) is connected.

Can you post photos of the long thin circuit board connected to the lcd panel.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Just got image out of it with tape method.
Had to cover about 20 pins or so on the left side of connector.
Tried to cover less pins, but it either stops working or starts flickering or there are line patterns on the right side.
Experts, what's going on and what to do next?

You have a short in one or more MLCC's on the lower driver boards for the panel. The UK series is plagued with this problem and you have to remove the shorted cap to get the panel to fire up. It's a slow pain in the ass process. Life is NOT good with LG crap panels.

Brucetv, thanks for advice, I already tried to to find shorted caps, bus was not able to.
Are they dead short or somewhat leaking? Should I use resistance or diode check?
Or do you mean removing them one by one?

Set your meter to ohms and check for very low resistance close to very low to zero ohms

good evening. I have put the panel model, because it is a generic Chinese tv. The symptoms are the following: The rear light turns on, but there is no image, 12v arrives at the tcon integrated in the panel. I have made measurements of vgl, vgh and vaa. They are not present but they all act as rectifiers except for vaa, which is shorted. my questions are. Do you know any quick method to know the capacitor that is shorted without having a laboratory source? How could I know the value of the capacitor once extracted? I can't find schematics for this panel. a greeting

LG 49UJ6500 LCD panel lighter band that goes away
                        by howardc64
49UJ6500 LCD panel has a lighter band on top when first powered on. Goes away (or gets much fainter) after TV on for a few min. After powered off for awhile and power back on, same band appears. If powered on immediately after powering off, no or much fainter band. Running the latest firmware.

Disassembled the TV and lifted the LCD panel during testing. Band is on the LCD panel (can see the band on the panel as I lift it slightly) Backlight is perfectly even at the top edge. Double checked LCD panel alignment in the frame and is perfect but since band moved with the panel, its on...

                        QN55Q60R Service Menu Panel Help
                        by Storyteller12
I had a the above tv qn55q60r that had a bad panel but everything else good. I had another panel here from un55nu6900 with bad leds and melted diffusers.

I put the nu6900 panel in and powered it up and it does work but there are lines vertical lines.

I was trying to change the panel type in the service menu but don’t see my exact panel. Anyway to fix this or someone have similar experience.

the clear picture is the panel type from the service menus on the nu6900. The other 1 is the panel type that was set for the q60r with the bad panel....

Missing LCD Panel Voltages VGH, VGL, VCOM (TCL 55P6US Sound & Backlight but NO Picture)
                        by maneatingmonkey
I have a TCL 55P6US with sound and backlight but no picture. This model does not have a T-CON board, and the right (rear perspective) panel board is fed from the left panel board. I have not been able to induce any change by disconnecting the secondary panel board or the tape cut-off method on the primary board.

There are a bunch of voltages missing on the panel boards. I can't find any shorted caps of the panel boards, and all of the missing voltage rails read in the kiloohms, which leads me to suspect the issue may lie on the circuit board, rather than a short in the panel.
