Hello. I have a Sony Bravia set which is supposed to be a high quality set. There is a thin red line that runs down the center of the screen. I've have changed the T-Con board and the red line remains on the screen. Asking the experts, do y'all think I have a defected panel? Hopefully not, because I'd hate that such an expensive TV set can't be repaired because of a defective panel. Anyone with experience or knowledge of this issue with this TV set or any similar, I'd greatly appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

Re: Sony KDL-60R510A Thin Red line on screen
It does look like a possible lcd to ribbon panel issue (COF). If you apply pressure at the top of the set carefully in line with the red line, does it alter?Willing to help but I'm no expert. -
Re: Sony KDL-60R510A Thin Red line on screen
Hi. I've tried pressing around the top and bottom of the screen but that red line won't budge. I was hoping it was a main board problem because I've never seen a defective panel with a red vertical lines. And I seen where someone had a Sharp set with a thin red line and the T-Con board was the problem with that set.Comment

Can it be repaired without expensive equipment or is it trash due to a defective non-repairable panel?Comment

If you disconnect one of the ribbon cables from the Tcon to the panel does the line disappear. You may have to reconnect the ribbon and disconnect the second ribbon cable.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

I'm from Norway so I'd like to apology in advance if my description of the fault is kind of simple or the names on the components are way off. 😊
the TV is powering up, working as normally and picture is all good, except a 1.5-inch-wide vertical line of snow/static across the screen.
This TV is a Signage Display/Public Display version and it's been used at my work for 4-5 years showing commercials 24/7. The fault occurred when... -
by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by almarhumHas one here really gone through fixing laptop screen vertical line(s) by repairing/replacing its Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable, so would recount and share the complete steps of the process here now?
As most, if not all, believe the laptop screen vertical line(s) caused by defective Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable which slipped and passed through either laptop screen hinge but post here is asking help to elaborate definitively the useful, real knowledge of repairing in the most complete, correct way, esp. can decide/determine whether the cable can still be fixed or must be re...-

Hello everyone,
I have a Dell U3419W Monitor that has some thin stripes on a part of the screen since Tuesday.
This lines cover about a third of the screen and appear for 2 seconds before disappear for another 2 seconds.
This repeats the whole time. I have not opened the case yet cause I had no time, but will try to fix it on this weekend. For me, it looks like a problem on the TCon... Am I right?
Does someone have seen this before?...-
