Vizio D55-F2 backlights won't turn on

Hello all! I'm looking for some help in trying to fix my parents-in-law's Vizio D55-F2 tv. The tv will power on, but the backlights won't turn on. I can see a picture using a flashlight and the tv responds to the remote. The audio also works. I have tested all the LED strips and all of the LED's illuminate on every strip when powered from a separate source. I used a multimeter to take voltages from connector CN801 on the power supply board and had the following readings:

    TV plugged in, powered off
    Pin1-0
    Pin2-0
    Pin3-0
    Pin4-0
    Pin5-0
    Pin6-0
    Pin7-10.06v
    Pin8-10.06v
    Pin9-10.06v
    Pin10-10.06v
    Pin11-0
    Pin12-0
    Pin13-0
    Pin14-0
    Pin15-0
    Pin16-0

    TV plugged in, powered on

    Pin1-26.55v
    Pin2-26.56v
    Pin3-26.55v
    Pin4-0
    Pin5-0
    Pin6-0
    Pin7-12.66v
    Pin8-12.64v
    Pin9-12.66v
    Pin10-12.64v
    Pin11-0
    Pin12-0
    Pin13-0
    Pin14-0
    Pin15-2.99v
    Pin16-3.36v

Any suggestions on what to replace or test? I can handle probing points with a multimeter and some soldering/desoldering. Thank you in advance!

Bit of a non standard configuration because the LED controller is on the main board and not the power supply. There should be a logic signal to turn on the backlight but it will be a trace on the main board and not a pin on the connector. If the backlight isn't coming on and the leds are good, then the main board is suspect if the supply voltages are also good.

Thank you Neil for pointing me in the right direction. I had ordered a main board off of ebay, installed it and no luck. Not being convinced the ebay board was good, I ordered a different main board, installed it and have a working tv again! The in-laws are very happy to have their tv again.

many vendors are confused on this main board. Have to go by the bar code as this is where the part # for the main board is. 75500w01b001 is for the 65" version - 75500w01c001 is the 55" version. The 75500W01C001 will not work in the 65" version as 4 of the 16 led strips will not be lit.

Your Power supply sounds like it is working correctly. I would look at the main board right where the power comes in. there is a white smd fuse on the board that stops the 24V line. I also spotted a couple other fuses on that board if that isn't the bad one. Here is a video on where that fuse is located: https://youtu.be/DuhcViJ_k3w

          Good luck,

            VIZIO M557-G0: Backlights or ???
            by bpcannan
            'Morning,
I get sound and picture when powering on the TV and its stays that EXCEPT that the left half of the screen will dim every few seconds then return to normal while the right side of the screen performs as designed.

Did the soft and hard reset options pulling the plug, using the reet option in the vizio menu to no avail.

I checked the mainboard - found some popped capacitors so replaced it - but that did not change the situation.

I checked the t-con board. It is getting good power. Then I removed one ribbon cable to see if I could isolate...

            Vizio-D50u-D1 Pulsating Backlights
            by csmith
This Vizio came in the shop with no backlights. Replaced all the strips with replacement from Shop Jimmy. Set now has backlights but lights pulsate on left side. Half the screen brightens up then goes to normal then repeats.
Am I looking at a defective strip? Thanks in advance.

            Replacing backlights in Vizio V755-J04
            by x_orange90_x
I've had this monster for several months as I've hesitated to order backlights for it. Finally did order them and they are due to arrive tomorrow. Besides having ample space to work, are there any recommendations for working on such a massive screen? Should I remove the panel by myself or would 2 people be a better choice? I bought the double-cup suction cups from Harbor Freight and have been using them for the last few repairs on smaller screens. They are far superior to the single cup orange ones I used previously that would often let go without warning 😱.

            I have not replaced...

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
            by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
            by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...
