JVC EM32TS LCD tv wont power on

    hi

i have this tv and it wont power on..no image..no backlight

here are voltages when tv plugged in

    1: 5v
    2: 0
    3: 0
    4: 0
    5: 3.3v
    6: 5v
    7: 0
    8: 1.5v

if i power tv on i get a momentary voltage less than 1 second at the led output of about 65v but then slowly goes down to zero

can see the white led on front of tv turn on then off...

none of the backlight leds light up even for a fraction of a second.

if i unplug the led power connector is does same thing

    any ideas?

these cheap made crap tvs seem to always be led issues or eeprom..but since none of the leds light up even for a fraction of second im not sure issue here..i would have bet it was led issue casuing to to power off immediatley but since none are lighting up im not sure..

you could try freezing the eeprom

Re: JVC EM32TS LCD tv wont power on

      thanks
well today i powered it on and off over 50 times and the leds never lit up at all

      there are 3 led strips

i removed 1 strip from the equation and i then powered tv on and the leds lit up for a fraction of a second

but now wont light up again when powered on...maybe fried led ..im sure removing 1 strip and keeping the voltage the same is not a good idea but its just possible that this is a led issue since the leds only lit up when i removed 1 strip

      what you think pete?

take it you dont have an led tester ?
if you did then you could check if there really is any image at all by lighting up a set first . just been through it on myself with badged tv but from umc . think yours might be amtran .
i swore there wasn't an image but i happened to look at it in lower light and could just see the image .

no but i have a 12v power supply i can use to rtest each strip..i have done that before

ill try that and get back

i really think its a led issue and i now prob fied the other 2 strips when i removed the 1 strip and then powered on tv..prob roo many volts

my voltage going to led is about 85v so 85v going to 2 strips prob fried those 2

i believe with led.s its the current rather than voltage that matters .

well i tested the led strips with a 12 ac adapter

the strip i removed originally ineed was bad..has 2 bad leds

there is 1 strip that is good

however the 1st strip in series appears to be 100% bad all leds..i tried testing it 25 times...they will not power on like the other strips..i find it odd that all the leds would be fried but its possible since its the first strip in series and when i removed the 1 strip and powered tv on maybe it had too much current and blew all the leds on the strip..seems strange but i guess its possible..

                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                by PantherDave
                Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
                by GLISIT
                Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
