    LG 47LX6500 backlight off after a sec. no video

    Hello folks.
    I have another patient.
    LG TV lx6500. When i turn it on the status led goes normally from red to white.
    the backlight turns on for a sec then off again... after a few seconds i can hear a high pitch sound, backlight turns on and off for another sec and thats it.
    No video with flashlight.. sound is working. no optical problems on the boards.
    any suggestions?

      Seems this patient have shorted Led ,have tried removing the LED connection from the main board and observe if the sound occurs?open circuit or connections from the power board can also cause such intermittent behaviour.

          It looks like you already have added to a thread regarding this set that Budm is assisting you with. Two threads will become very confusing to anyone helping.
          Willing to help but I'm no expert.

                  I am testing an old LG L192WS-BN monitor I have that gives an image, but has a backlight issue. When you turn it on the backlight turns on 1 second and it turns off, turns on again, 1 second and it turns off and stays off. Using a flashlight I can see there's still an image.

                  I replaced a bulged cap on the main board, but made no difference. I also got another exact same model monitor that has a broken ccfl (the connector got ripped from the panel and the main screen connector is also broken so I can't use this panel to test), tried using the main board from this one, same issue....

                  Samsung un55cu7000d with backlight and sound No Video / Picture

                  I am working on a Samsung un55cu7000d which has backlights and audio. There is no picture. This model does NOT have a separate TCON board. Before I order a main board I would like to try and confirm that the issue is not in the display. The ribbon cable from the main board goes directly to the display and I can then disconnect the left from the right. When I disconnect the right side the display lights up on one side but has no video being displayed. Can you all give me some guidance on how to confirm the main board is the issue.

                  Tv shows no issues other than no backlight. Picture was visible with flashlight and menu navigation possible with audible responses.

                  Polyester film Capacitor c620 27nf (on power supply board had visible brown discoloration, but is not shorted. Replaced with suitable spare and now working properly. (Apparently this is a known issue with this series.)

                  Backlights tested independently with tester and registered ~140vs on each.

                  LG 55LF 5800 no video,no sound or backlight

                  Picked up this 55 inch LG 55LF5800 . It has standby light but that's it .Blinks 3 times .No picture,no sound.Could hear rattling inside.Changed all led strips as half of the reflectors were broken.Put back together still no go .Checked output from power supply to LED connector .Only getting 89 volts on each .Suppose to be 215 V and 145 V . power board number is EAX65423801 .Yes i know screws are not on power board .I just put back on for pics.

                  it shows not even a flash of backlight when powering up.
                  but the tv appeas to turn on and i can hear the sound of the menus moving and clicking. i can power down the tv with the button.
                  testing the backlights with my tester all 4 strings lit up and showed similar voltage drops. around 110 or so.
                  unplug mb and leave only psu plugged into backlights (PSU + BL SELF TEST MODE?) does not light the backlights.
                  i do see 24v but 0v on PSON and BLON (i didnt write this down tho so cant be sure)
                  with mb connected, PSON...
