I need to know if pin 9 is the c504 thought.

I don't wanna jumper and then short the chip again.

I only have a 12v 3A power supply, that doesn't look like low currents.
never apply external voltage to the boards..

i suggest LEDs test... you have now 3 plugs going out from LED box each with many pins,, but they are only one - & + this apply external voltage just be sure of - &+
3A are safe to test them.

Pin 1 is positive on the led drive, pin 10 is negative.

I would have applied power through power connector board so there is no way I would get it wrong.

I fixed other stuff this way and never had a problem.

So if one of the leds is open, probably it's the led's fault for burning the led driver chip?

        What do you suggest?

we cant call the defect LEDs as OPEN. because they are RGB type, the defect one mean it explosion after it shorted and effected on LED driver boards as you have in hand.

the LEDs metal assembly box need to take it in parts & all 3 RGB LED to replace before your working on driver boards take in place.

I tested the leds with the 12v 3amp power supply and they all work as they should.

Yes tell that to my eyes, I am still seeing butterflies as I forgot to turn the last led (the green one) on the other side and it almost blinded me.

That was a good suggestion though as I found out that the dlp chip had old thermal paste on its side and none directly on the chip. Same thing for the r/g/b leds, dried up paste on the heatsink.

LG and other manufacturers are cheeky and want to screw up people by the old overheating trick.

What do you suggest now? Should I go on with the bridging?

why not... only the driver boards bring it to normal

You think that there is no short on the board and bridging will fix every-thing? I think one or more caps are shorted.

LOL.. how could i know.. check SMT component specially ZD / D parts and Q regulators.

before 4 years or more i got Benq GP10 LED projector, and the issue was the drivers, the projectors work but no led on.. over one year i used it with external 12v 5A power supply to feeds the RGB LEDs. until i found new LEDs replacement then i fixed the driver.

                        The diodes and transistors?

Yes pin 5 is mosfet related.

So I am going to bridge pin 5 with c503 pin 8 with c506 pin 9 with c504 and pin 9 with c505?

if you aligned the new ic at it place you will find pin 5 & 8 the soldering bed flying out? so it look at the photo no more pins on the surface

Diah is trying say that the traces are blown away.
This looks really bad to me, so many burnt and damaged trace, board is carbonized from the burnt.
That inductor L500 looks burnt to.
It is going to be real hard to get the IC pins to make good connection with the solder pads.

So can we agree on where each pin goes?

                                    Pin 5 = ....?
                                    Pin 8 = ....?
                                    Pin 9 = ....?
                                    Pin10= ....?

I have nothing to lose, I will give it a try.

I don't understand. Earlier you stated that "pin 5,8,10 easy to jumper", now you are telling me that the traces are not repairable.

Don't get me wrong, I thank you very much for the great help but it is just that I am getting a bit confused.

I am gonna take a picture asap from pin 5 to 14 with my new phone arriving tomorrow.

i never wrote words not repairable.. just we agree that those pins had no soldering trace on boards which can be jumper to the correct points.
