    Not sure if what you want to try will work, need to be very careful in service menu, it's pretty easy to brick a tv in that menu but here's some to try:

    Method 1

    Turn The TV off.
    Press and hold the {CH +} & {CH -} buttons on the TV.
    Then press and release the {POWER} button on the TV.
    Release the {CH +} & {CH -} buttons.
    Now press the {MENU} button on the remote.
    You should get your regular menu up, but with a "F" in the bottom right corner of the menu (This is for factory).
    Press and hold the {MENU} button for few seconds.
    The Service Menu will be displayed.

    Method 2

    Turn The TV off.
    Press and hold the {CH +} & {CH -} buttons on the TV.
    Then press and hold the {POWER} button on the TV.
    Keep all three buttons pressed for few seconds.
    Now press the {MENU} button on the remote.
    You should get your regular menu up, but with a "F" in the bottom right corner of the menu (This is for factory).
    Press and hold the {MENU} button for few seconds.
    The Service Menu will be displayed.

    Method 3

    Press and hold the {EXIT} button on the remote for 3 seconds then release it.
    Then press the {1} {2} {3} buttons on the remote.
    To exit, press the {EXIT} button.

    Method 4

    Press the {MENU} {2} {4} {8} {9} buttons on the remote.
    The Service Menu will be displayed.
    To exit, press the {EXIT} button.

    Method 5

    Press the {MENU} {1} {2} {3} buttons on the remote.
    The Service Menu will be displayed.
    To exit, press the {EXIT} button.

      Tried 3-5 not working, 1-2 - there is no CH+/- on TV, only input VOL+ VOL- and POWER

          Another to try:

          Turn off your TV but leave it plugged in.
          Hold down both the “CH+” and the “CH-” buttons on the TV remote.
          Press and release the “Power” button on the TV remote.
          Let go of the “CH+” and “CH-” buttons.
          Press the “Menu” button on the TV remote.
          The TV should turn on and present you with the menu. You should see an “F” in the bottom right to indicate this is a factory setup screen.
          Press and hold the “Menu” button for a few seconds.
          You should see the Service Menu.

            As I said I used main board from M50-C1 on M65-C1 (twice cheaper), but was able to start it with rewriting EEPROM (different tcon, and led driver), after eeprom replacement tv starts and I can use it, but after restart eeprom get overwritten so I need to change TV model number, to keep settings in place, I did that trick for samsung already, maybe will work for vizio.

              When I hold down “CH+” and the “CH-” remote stop sending signals (checked with phone camera) so pressing power will not turn on tv

                    Try this:
                    Do the following steps rapidly:
                    1. Press “MENU”;
                    2. Press”1”+”9” +”9” +”9”;
                    3. Press ”last”;

                      Damn, worked, so one dude from Vizio support gave correct one but forgot about return after 1999, unfortunately that menu cannot change model number, so I assume they flashed it to emmc and it's specific per model

                        I thought that "no service code" was BS from vizio, looks like the one guy was close then the second had no clue so he said there isn't one, too funny.

                          Should prolly stick that service code procedure up in Randtek's factory reset sticky.

                            ok so i realize this post is quite old but i have solution to this Vizio board swap problem and the eeprom being overwritten when the TV is turned off and back on again.
                            I had the same issue with a M50-C1
                            I didn't want to purchase an exact replacement because at the time i didn't know if the TV had other issues or not.
                            I did however have a D50-D1 Main board.. when i installed it as-is the screen was stretched out...so i copied the code from the M50 to the D50 Main board and then used my programmer to bit protect the code from being overwritten if the TV was turned off and back on..
                            you need lock out(protect) BP0,BP1,BP2,BP3 after you've copied your code into the replacement boards eeprom..
                            this may however keep the TV from ever receiving any updates lol but the TV should not have the above issue any longer
