Re: Samsung UN55H8000AFXZA No Backlight, LED Strips OK

    1) Do you get backlights if the cable between the power supply board and the main board is not connected?
    2) What did you use for ground for the meter when you measure 16V on the + pins?
    3) What are the Voltages of each pin of the connector of the power supply that goes to the main board? Notes: measurement is done with all cables in place and you need to put down the pin name for each pin so we can easily see what you have on each pin..

Monitor the voltage between chassis ground and J816 when the tv is first turned on, What is the voltage?

That voltage is low, What is the voltage across one of the main filter caps, CP811S or CP812S ? If this voltage is about 385vdc then the pfc circuit is working ok.

I know that, but if the pfc was not working properly the led boost circuit would not be getting full voltage.
It seems like the problem is that the Led voltage is not being boosted to 34v. This could be caused by a bad led in one of the strings causing the led controller to shut down. 1 bad led in any of the 16 strings could cause the issue.

You tested all the led's in all 16 seperate strings?

LED problem on samsung UE55F6475, 2 strips work. The rest is flashing every second.

                                          Ok.. this is the story:
Have an old Samsung LED 3D TV (UE55F6475). First it started to lose light on the lower 40% of the screen now and then. Like for 10-60 mins and then it would work again. Then a bit later it just got stuck in that position. The lower 40% of the screen is dark, and it gets progressively darker the lower u go so it's obviously that LED strips where not working. I also looked for similar errors online and saw an exact copy and on that one it was faulty LED strips.

This is kinda how it looked, just that mine were at the bottom of the screen:

                                          Hi everyone!

Hope you're all having a great day, and thank you very much for stopping by and taking the time to read this post to help me with my parents' Samsung TV.

                                          My issue: No backlight.

                                          Model: QE82Q70RAT
                                          Type No: QE82Q70RAT

The TV was already serviced by Samsung once under warranty for the exact same issue, but six months after the fix, the backlight went out again. Now, Samsung is asking for nearly the same price as a brand new TV to fix this with the same 6-month guarantee.

So hopefully, I can fix this cheaper.

Samsung UN55NU7300F Curved TV. Half side backlight out. Fixed by just removing the rear snap cover

TV was fixed just after removing Samsung's rear snap cover.

This curved TV's construction is rather interesting. When the snapped on back is removed, rest of the TV will relax the curvature. Top of LCD panel is loose as it wants to straighten out against the slightly curved bezel. Snapped back provide most of the curvature shape. So just simple disassembly of rear cover will allow the rest of the TV frame to relax its curvature. Thats probably what fixed it but no idea which connection. 4x LEDs are edge lit.

Maybe PSU->backlight connector didn't have a good contact?...
