When Tv is first plugged in and power button is pressed it will turn on. After a second or two the tv will then shutoff and give a 5 blink error. I am trying to figure out if this would be an issue with the t-con or the panel itself.

1) Check the fuse on the T-CON board.
2) Check to see if you do have 12V at both ends of the fuse on the T-CON board with ref to GND.
3) Try having one ribbon cables between T-CON and the LCD panel connected one at the time (make sure to unplug the TV from the outlet first) to see what happen.Never stop learning

I tried unplugging the t-con to the panel ribbon cables one at a time and turning on and it repeats the same error. Press power, backlights turn on for a couple seconds and then shuts down to the 5 blink error.
With checking the fuse. (Guessing it is the component above the chip and close to in between the top connections that connect from the t-con to the motherboard) I tested and received nothing out of it. Assuming i did it right.Comment

Yes that is the FUSE (F1, 3A/125v)What voltage do you measure on both sides of the fuse? It should be around +12v.I tested and received nothing out of it.Last edited by R_J; 02-12-2020, 01:16 PM.Comment

just too clarify you are using the tv chassis as ground for your multimeter set on dc volts then testing both sides of the fuse.Comment

Yes, i ground to the chassis and the test with the multimeter set to 20v dc and i get nothing out of both sides when i have the tv powered on.
When testing the test points shown i am guessing with a multimeter set to dc and grounded?Comment

It would seem that you don't have +12 volts from the power supply, Check on CN6401 pin10 of the power supply, this should be +12 volts
If you no not have +12 volts, from the power supply, Un-plug the tv and check R6536 resistance (white ceramic 0.1Ω)Last edited by R_J; 02-12-2020, 02:42 PM.Comment

For anyone interested just repaired this Sony Main board TV that had a 2 blink error code, the chassis is a RB2G which is common to quite a few different Sony models. The Ceramic 10uF 25V X7R 1206 capacitor C9114 was shorted which took the smd 2A 0603 fuse out F9101. This was powering the Buck converter TPS54332 which caused no 5V output from it.
See the attached picture of the locations of both components. I also attach the best service manual I found for this board for anyone else in a similar position of trying to repair this main board. It's not specific to the TV model however it gives...01-08-2024, 05:56 AM -
When I power the TV on, usually nothing happens, it clicks, and then it shuts off and the red light blinks 4 times. Sometimes the backlights turn on for a few seconds, flicker, and then it powers itself off. I was able to access the service menu screen once, and it showed numerous LD_ERR instances. I have since replaced the backlights and the LD Board (part #ST650LD-20S01), but have not had any success - still the same error code. I've also tried disconnecting and grounding both the LD_ERR and BL_ERR wires to bypass the error, but that didn't work either. Any ideas of what the problem is and how... -
Pioneer Kuro Pro 111FD 8 blink red LED.
I have been trying to solve the power-down 8-blink red LED problem with my Pioneer.
So far I have replaced the power supply board, and the digital assembly board, I have reconnected the ribbons to all boards, ensuring the connections are good. Even though the problem is the 8 red light error and not the more common 8 blue light error code, I had Kcrownie,

I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.
