You can try just disconnecting the DRV-ON cable only from the power supply side and then use a 1K resistor between the DRV-ON pin of the power supply and Standby power supply pin to force on the backlights and see if the backlights will come on and stay on or not and the image and sound are OK or not.Never stop learning

Sorry for so late of a reply, my mother went to the hospital so a little scatterbrained atm.
Bud, I tried forcing the DRV-ON but it didn't work. I found a replacement power and main board for $30 and got them today. So I have $55 in the set now but it needs legs and a remote. Set works great though.
Other boards could have worked with the set but would miss out on the 3D and other options. Boards I got were direct replacement with matching part numbers.
I have a few other TVs that need some attention atm. I do know that despite the backlights, there were vertical lines on the whole screen so the main board was screwed. When I have time I will try to troubleshoot the the other boards and try to fix them since I am trying to learn.

Hope your mom is ok. Are you sure that your original powerboard is bad? may have just been the mainboard.Comment

Probably just the main but I got them both for $30 out of a set with a broken screen, so I just swapped out both. Will tinker with the others when I have time.
By the way, thank you for the condolences. She is very weak and keeps ripping her IVs out.Comment

I though I've seen all possible kinds of failures but this one is new...
Colors saturation is gradual.y fading out on the left side of the screen (all colors are fading out). While B&W image is looking good.
I tried replacing TCon but nothing changed. So this is looking like the panel failure. Is there a chance it can be fixed?
Any useful measured can be done on the panel's narrow pcbs? Is there may be something similar to taping trick to fix this issue?...Yesterday, 07:37 PM -

This is my first post so I will try to be as precise as possible without making this post too long winded. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the original problem but I included images of the TV internals.
I have a Sharp 70LE660U. The problem started a few months ago with the bottom row looking out of sync and was dark on the left side and then fading to transparent on the right side. Shortly after, a dark cloud appeared in the center of the screen. The dark cloud started small and shaded but the image was visible. It also affected the menu area.... -

.. swapped mobos and matched them close as possible .. now this .. two images side by side I am guessing wrong resolution .. everything else is working fine

Hitachi 32HAE2351 Vestel 17MB171 - Rotate Image
Mainboard: VESTEL 17MB171 Chassis: VES315WNGB - 2D - N52
The TV was stuck on the logo and I couldn't access the update menu.
I couldn't find the firmware for the Hitachi 32HAE2351 and updated it with the Toshiba 32WA2063DG - Vestel 17MB171 firmware.
The image result was good, but the image is inverted.
The image rotation/mirror function doesn't exist in the Menu Server. I can't correct the image.
Do you have the firmware for the Hitachi 32HAE2351 - Vestel 17MB171 motherboard or a solution to rotate the image in...
