Can someone tell me which board has failed, power or main. Its a vizio m551d-a2, ver. LWJJOJBP2202120. There is no sign of life. No standby light, "nothing" Voltages on connector to main board are. Pin 1-5vsb=5.10v,pin 2-5vsb=5.10v, pin 3-ac off det.=3.27v, pin 4-pson=3.10v, 5&6 GND=0v, pin 7-5v nc=0v, pin 8-5v nc=0v, 9&10-GND=0v, pin 11-reg 12v=0v, pin12-reg 12v=0v, don't know what pin 13 and 15 are labeled but 13 reads 0v, 15 reads .61v, The connector just above is labeled reg 12v and reads 0v on both pins. Across the big capacitor reads 389.6v. No change pressing the power button. Also take a look at the pic of the transformer, looks to me that it got hot or is this normal. Thanks for any help.

Re: VIZIO M551D-A2 completely dead
Right now he PS-ON is present so the PFC Voltage booster is working, 389.6V PFC Voltage is present, but the switched 12V, 24V power supply section is not running.
Is this the exact same board as yours?

Re: VIZIO M551D-A2 completely dead
I was thinking the Power board. But wanted to get someone else's thoughts with experience. Thanks Budm for replying. When I looked up the "151" board, showed it was for m551d-a2r. I knew then the 161 was the same. Thanks again.have a safe 4thComment

by max-powerHi, I disassemble my laptop to replace the speakers, to access them, you have to remove everything including the heat sink and fan, unscrew the motherboard, lift it up a bit to access the speaker wire.
that was not the first time I dissasemble it, i did replace the same speaker a few year ago and I repaste it last year, so I had nothing to worry about. but when I put everything back together, its completely dead.
After a bit of investigating, i found one pin of the status led ribbon cable that was unglued from the cable and bend touching another pin, I bend it back at his place... -
by Iain PHi everybody!
I've got a Vizio E65-F0 smart tv that is good and dead. It shows no signs of life when I press the power button on the back. The power LED in the lower right corner doesn't light, there is no backlight and no picture.
So I took the back off and started poking around figuring one or more of the caps had dried out. My esr meter says all the caps on the power supply board and the mainboard are less than 1 ohm.
I decided to check the voltages coming off the power supply they are as follows:
connector CN201
pin 1 (18vsb1)... -
Hi, Just joined this forum hoping to fix this TV.
Sorry for the long post to explain the problem in details.
Model: VIZIO M70-D3, 4 years old
What happened: TV had no issue at all and one day just died (4 weeks ago) and NO LED stand-by light (usually it's Red at bottom left front side)
Current status: Cannot power on and NO LED stand-by light
Strategy: Since I am not good at fixing boards at component level, it's better for me to just replace boards with known good ones

by pavskiTrying to troubleshoot MSI z490 tomahawk board and would appreciate your help. The board is completely dead and shows no activity when the power button is pressed.
I have tried to look at the Superio, the PSIN signal seems to be correct (goes from 3.3V to 0 on button press) but the voltage on PSOUT pin is quite low. I
t is only 0.8V which seems to be incorrect but goes to 0 when the button is pressed.
Can you please let me know if this is indeed incorrect and what else should I look at next?
Thanks! -
by AndreasbestHello.
I received a T14s Gen1 ( NM-C891 motherboard ) that is completely dead, no indication of life at all.
I tried hard reset without RTC battery and short both pins of it for 1 minute but no luck.
Since it's type C connector i have no idea what to measure or where to inject voltage, so any advice are welcomed
Thank you in advance!
