Vizio TVs, defective update? Same symptoms on two different TVs after update

So after 2 different Vizio TV's model numbers P502ui-B1E and D55u-D1 got updates there is now a picture latency issue. The sound comes up but the picture takes about a second to show. If I use the channel up button and move up several stations the sound comes up pretty fast but there is a gray screen before the picture comes up. The other problem is when I do a partial channel search the menu flashes on and off several times but the scan continues normally.

Both TVs worked fine with no issues until the latest update was installed. After though these issues showed up.

I'm just wondering if anyone else's Vizio TVs are having similar issues after a recent update?

Could be buggy updates, can you roll em back to last firmware?

The next morning when I turned it on there was a firmware update notice on screen. Because it updated when the TV was off I presume it came from Vizio.

Can you check and see what FW version is on the P502ui-B1E now?

Unfortunately no, this is a post-sale TV. The same one I was discussing in another thread. I replaced the main board in it and the problem went away. Apparently the update happened while in the buyer's possession.

I still have the D55u-D1 (also with a main board replacement before update and onset of symptoms) and I can check the FW version in it.

It should be 1.5.16 by now.

That is 8 months ago, and some people also has problem with new FW as well.
I would contact as well to see what they have to say about the problem after upgrading the FW.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                  by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                  Assuming...

                  by jason123
Wondering if any of you have seen this before. I got this TV with lower half of the screen dim. Fixed the LED backlight issue - smooth

I noticed that the System update lists current firmware is V1.0.6 and is able to find on the Vizio server 2.60.23-1... it downloads fully.. but instead of restarting, it just goes back to the previous screen "NO SIGNAL - HDMI1"

I got the code and followed the update via flash drive - and it does exactly the same thing. Firmware is copied by the TV 100%, and then nothing - instead of restarting, it just goes back to the previous...

Just archiving everything related to bumpgate since most stuff has disappeared from Google. Maybe people will finally take the time to read some of it and stop shouting "reflow gpu" at every occasion but rather try to understand what the real issue is…
