When both sides of the Tcon are connected the TV picture looks like picture one and according to the person who owns the tv originally the problem was on top. If I disconnect the left cable to the Tcon then it looks like picture two and if I disconnect right side it looks like picture three. Now with either side disconnected the picture that is showing will start to fade. I am pretty sure bad panel but I have not ruled out the Tcon and am asking for advice. There are no side tabs so tab removal is out of the question.

Panel problem, since the tab bonding boards are on the bottom edge of the panel, you should inspect them, also inspect the side tabs (Gate drive) if it has any.Last edited by budm; 04-23-2019, 07:08 PM.Never stop learning

Looking like panel issue, the cutoff tape method might get you a good image.Comment

Cut tape works on a lot of m, try turning down your backlights not brightness if possible, see if the double image clears up any.Comment

Hi,
I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.
If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and... -

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

i have a samsung lcd tv
it powers on with sound and backlight but no picture
all voltages from PS are good 12v 3.3v and 5v

i figured main board issue..so i ordered a used main board....when i put replacement main board in i still have same issue
no 12v at the tcon fuse
i disconnect the panel ribbon cables to rule out any panel issues and i still have no 12v at the tcon fuse
the odds of having 2... -

I have Hisense H55U7B TV with no picture, only big vertical stripes. I did several tests and I'm not sure, where is problem.
1. Connected tcon to 12V, white, red, green, blue, black picture visible in cycle on full LCD without error
2. Connected only left side of LCD to tcon, big stripes
3. Connected only right side of tcon, visible normal picture on the right. Working as expected.
Where could be problem?

I recently fixed our Samsung black screen of death by watching YouTube videos and reading through previous threads. Removed a few ceramic capacitors and fixed a short on the back side of the tcon board. So my father and law asked me if I could try to fix his visio. He said that it wouldn't power on. When he first brought it to me I plugged it in and there was a standby light. When I hit the power button the TV booted up and everything worked. I hit the power button again and then I saw what he ment. Since then I have not been able to get it to power on or have a standby... - Loading...
