Samsung HP-S5053 distorted pixels. Bad Panel?

So I got this Samsung HP-S5053 and I am guessing the screen/panel is bad. Everything else seems to be working perfect. Here are some pictures

Looks like a typical (X) z-sus board problem.

I'm going to disagree and say problem on the Y sustain.

          chrismurphy:

This is a Samsung with X-Main and Y-Main boards.

Are you accidentally thinking of the poor solder connection of large coils on an LG plasma instead of a Samsung plasma? This problem may not apply here.

          Shane711:

This may be a similar problem to older LG plasma TVs with IPM (Integrated Power Module) under the large heatsinks. Sometimes the IPM can fail (not completely) and yield such image problems.

If the IPM modules are not failed, it could require a small adjustment to one of the 3 potentiometers on the Y-main board or 2 potentiometers (for Va and Vs) on the power supply.

Take photos or clearly mark the EXISTING position of EVERY POT.

On power supply: Take measurements of Va and Vs voltage to confirm these voltages match the label on the back of the panel itself. If they do not match, try to adjust to match panel specs. Do not go too high or you will risk damaging poser supply or other boards and force TV shutdown.

On Y-Main: Then try very small adjustments one at a time to see if there is any improvement to the picture quality.

Sometimes the panel requires small adjustment to these pots as a panel ages.

I've tweaked many older LG plasma panels to improve picture quality or remove sparklies from dark areas of image.

Adjustments should be done on warm TV after about 15 minutes of use.

          Edit:
Also, double-check that the color settings in the user menu are ok (neither max or min) I have had Samsung TV and monitors that lost their settings and adopted crazy value outside of acceptable range limits... Adjusting and saving can fix menu value problems... I doubt that is the case here but cannot be ruled out.

SAMSUNG UN50TU8000F rebooting, backlight ok. No 12v to panel boards.
            by triplefour
TV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.

            tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board....

Samsung UN65TU8000 - Panel Issue [ hole in ribbon cable ]
            by NWArkGuy
Well, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...

In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.

I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.

I have 2 that I have found and have in my possession. ...

Samsung UN50TU8000 - Dead Panel Forensic Questions
            by KYBOSH
I came across a 50inch TU8000 that wouldnt start up properly (blinking stand-by light, backlights would cycle on and off).

When i opened it up and removed the power to the mainboard the backlights powered up and everything looked uniform.
When reconnected the mainboard but disconnected the flex cable to the panel i heard the TV startup with the intro sound.

Later I checked for shorts on the panel PCB boards but could not find anything.
When I took a look with the FLIR i noticed the 2 resistors...

            Samsung 70" 4k "bad panel"
            by scuby
            Hello

            I have a 70" Samsung tv. It's a recent 4k model. Produced in 2020. It's barely 3 years old.

At first it was stuck in a boot loop. Something was shorting to the panel itself.

It has a power supply and an integrated t-con with a single ribbon connector to the screen which has three separate small driver boards interconnected by two ribbons.

By process of elimination i deduced the lower right driver panel was the problem.

By either covering a few pins i could get the tv to boot but the image had lines. While messing...

Samsung 55" UN55JS9000 - Pink vertical lines due to chipped LCD panel?
            by Anonmis
Hello all, I was recently repairing my Samsung 55" UN55JS9000 tv from the common burnt backlight LED's and cracked light guide panel issue. After replacing the LED's and putting the TV back together, I tested the tv and all I was getting was sound but no image. Somewhere along the way (could be related to the next issue) the T-Con board became damaged and after replacing it I have made a little bit of progress but now have bright pink vertical lines and still no image.

The bigger issue .... I took the TV apart again and realized that I likely didn't sit the LCD panel correctly...
