    Philips 42pfp5332 doubt panel

Hi to all the friends of the forum, and thanks to all of you in advance, from the photos that I enclose how many chances are there is not the panel to lack ..? practically there are 4-5 very thin black lines at the top and bottom of the display, I know that it probably has a faulty panel but my doubt arises because .... a voltage .. the VE on the X-sus turns out to be low compared to the one screen-printed on the panel, the TV at the start could not turn on with a brief flash of the screen and then return to standby and stay there, replacing some electrolytics on the psu that were not swollen but at a loss .. the TV turns on and works regularly but with that defect that I am attaching to you in the photo, moreover the trimmer that would regulate the said VE tension seems not to act even moving it either at the maximum or at the minimum..varia only a few volts ... 1-2 at most .. thought it could depend on this. ..to someone and it happened to solve a similar problem only because a tension was not respected as in this case ... I'm about to dismantle the tv..but I wanted certainty from you more experts thanks

Check or re-seat the ribbon cables between the panel and the buffer boards at the locations of the lines, If that does'nt help, it could be a bad buffer ic or the panel.
Any of the voltages being off slightly would effect the whole picture, not just a couple lines.

      as always punctual thanks R_J

I carefully cleaned the ribbon cables without result, the voltage VE is 60v and the trimmer does not work, all the other voltages are ok, on the panel the VE is written that should be 102v .. so very low, on the buffer I checked little .. what could I check further?

          For the black lines:
You can check the buffer ic's for shorts with a meter in diode test, by placing a probe on the connector going to the y-sus and the other probe check each side of the connector going to the panel connector. each pin should be aprox 6xx to 7xx (like a diode) if one of the pins checks shorted, that buffer ic is bad, If all the pins check ok, its likely the panel is at fault

              Thanks R_J

Tested all ic buffers as described and all in the normal range, no short circuit. After that I dismantled the frame and got to the ribbon cables, some of which prompted the lines to disappear and then reappear again..so I confirm matrix defective panel, thanks to all

LG 49UJ6500 LCD panel lighter band that goes away
                by howardc64
49UJ6500 LCD panel has a lighter band on top when first powered on. Goes away (or gets much fainter) after TV on for a few min. After powered off for awhile and power back on, same band appears. If powered on immediately after powering off, no or much fainter band. Running the latest firmware.

Disassembled the TV and lifted the LCD panel during testing. Band is on the LCD panel (can see the band on the panel as I lift it slightly) Backlight is perfectly even at the top edge. Double checked LCD panel alignment in the frame and is perfect but since band moved with the panel, its on...

SAMSUNG UN50TU8000F rebooting, backlight ok. No 12v to panel boards.
                by triplefour
TV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.

                tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board....

                QN55Q60R Service Menu Panel Help
                by Storyteller12
I had a the above tv qn55q60r that had a bad panel but everything else good. I had another panel here from un55nu6900 with bad leds and melted diffusers.

I put the nu6900 panel in and powered it up and it does work but there are lines vertical lines.

I was trying to change the panel type in the service menu but don’t see my exact panel. Anyway to fix this or someone have similar experience.

the clear picture is the panel type from the service menus on the nu6900. The other 1 is the panel type that was set for the q60r with the bad panel....
