    Samsung PN60E6500EF - Bad/grainy Picture

    Hi guys

I got this TV from a friend. He complains about the TV switching on and off intermittently. I read all the threads on Badcaps about this issue. I also found a damaged Filter capacitor on the Power Supply (circled in black). It is a 68nF Cap, and I replaced it with a new one. I also checked for bad soldering joints, especially around heatsinks, also on the Y-Main Board and the Z-sub board.

The TV now stays on, but suddenly it's got grainy picture. I cleaned all the ends on the LDV and FCC cables, but with no avail.

Can the problem still lie on the Power Supply, or should I check for something else. The voltages on the connectors on the Power Supply when switched on is exactly as on the silk diagram on the board.

    Thank you

Does the fuzzy image appear across all inputs? Please test all analog and digital inputs.

Please upload high resolution pictures of your Y-Main plasma board. I believe this is one of the models with faulty, small blue ceramic capacitors... Replacing all of the small blue capacitors on y-main board may be solution but C5050, C5152, C5153 (10uF/50V possibly labeled 106) would be a start.

On one of my efforts to try to read voltages of this TV, I accidentally shorted pins 2 and three on the cable going from the X-Sys to the Y-Sys. It made a loud popping sound, and since it doesn't want to switch on. I replaced the X-Sys, the Y-Sys as well as I send the Power Supply to a Repair Service in the States. When I plug the TV in, the little red light comes on, when I switch it one in gives the five double flashes. The mainboard worked fine before, it was just the picture that were grainy.

        Can someone please help

I removed all connectors from my Mainboard. I also shorted out holes 3 and 4 on my logic board. I also shorted PS-On on the Power supply to ground. I could hear the TV trying to switch on a few times, but I do not get the color pattern test screen

You only have to remove the LDVS cable and short pins 3 and 4. Everything else has to be connected.

Can you please elaboratate on which LDVS cable to remove. Is it the one from the Mainboard to the Logic Board?

Here is the ldvs cable circled in red and holes 3 and 4 on the logic board.

                    Hi guys

I connected pins 3 and 4 on the logic board, removing the LDVS cable as suggested by TVTIMMY.

I can hear the TV try to switch on, but it switch off immediately, and the standby light goes to 5 double flashes.

So far I've replaced almost everything in this TV. Only the Mainboard and Logic Board left. Can it be the Main Board
