    Hi check the 5 volt stand-by line and replace any filter capacitor even if it does not appear swollen ... and check if all the expected voltages are present at the output sorry for my bad english .

      Disconnect the plugs going to the y-sus and X-sus boards and see if the clicking stops, If it does check for a short on one of the boards
      Because of the bad caps and constant restarting, there may be other damage
      Also check NT801s thermistor and relay connections, If NT801s is burnt/open also replace relay RL801s

        Hi Guys thanks for the information.. on voltage test points with board on the bench plugged into mains only and also no clicking from relays has anyone a schematic for this board and i will check parts ..Thanks

        stb_5v = 5.109v
        18v_amp = 0.038v
        12v = 0.514v
        D5.3 = 0.493

          Whats the board number? it can be something like BN44-00xxxx, I think its a BN44-00159a?
          Try the board without the main connected, many samsung boards use a pull up resistor on the ps_on line
          That will turn on all but the Vs line which requires a 1k resistor from Vs on to standby 5

              Then it should turn on without the main connected. PS_ON will be high (5 volts)

                ok so if i join them with a resistor all the voltages should turn on ie 12v 18v D5.3v with it plugged into the wall only .Thanks

                  Re: Samsung Ps-42c96hd Capacitor replacement

                  You dont need to join anything with a resistor to get the main voltages (12v,18,etc) to come on. Just unplug the main board and plug in the a/c
                  There is only ONE voltage (the VS) that requires placing a resistor from standby 5 to Vs_on to turn it on
