Re: Samsung Ps-42c96hd Capacitor replacement
Disconnect the plugs going to the y-sus and X-sus boards and see if the clicking stops, If it does check for a short on one of the boards
Because of the bad caps and constant restarting, there may be other damage
Also check NT801s thermistor and relay connections, If NT801s is burnt/open also replace relay RL801sLast edited by R_J; 03-11-2019, 11:18 AM.

Re: Samsung Ps-42c96hd Capacitor replacement
Whats the board number? it can be something like BN44-00xxxx, I think its a BN44-00159a?
Try the board without the main connected, many samsung boards use a pull up resistor on the ps_on line
That will turn on all but the Vs line which requires a 1k resistor from Vs on to standby 5Last edited by R_J; 03-13-2019, 08:31 AM.

Re: Samsung Ps-42c96hd Capacitor replacement
You dont need to join anything with a resistor to get the main voltages (12v,18,etc) to come on. Just unplug the main board and plug in the a/c
There is only ONE voltage (the VS) that requires placing a resistor from standby 5 to Vs_on to turn it on
