    SAMSUNG UE46D5520 rebooting

    Hi guys
had a few of these samsungs come in with the same fault,
plug it in and boots to samsung logo, then turns off and starts again,
now from what im lead to believe is that the nand chip has corrupt software from an update, and replacing this chip will solve the problem,
so i got a chip from ebay, that says programed with updated software,
installed it, and still the same happens,
is there any other steps that i have to take or do ?

See if you can do a factory reset, I believe you hit: info-menu-mute-power to get at the service menu, be very careful in there, you only want to do factory reset for now, to see if it will clear up the issue, probably under options-factory reset.

Another thing to try: go into regular menu/system/support/remote management-set to off.

no idea m8, have'nt taken this one apart yet, but the 32 inch one is the one i changed the nand on, and that did'nt fully boot, still turned on and of within 30 secs with the t con disconnected.

done that, but just don't get enough time to get to the point of the reset, before it turns off again, tryed loads of times

does the nand ic do everything on these sets or is there a 8 legged ic that holds some data too.

Might not be possible but I wonder if you could do it with a flashlight or does the picture go away completely?

Inspect both end of the connector of the cable that goes between main board and power supply board to see if any part part of the connector has brown stain from over heating or not.

yes there is an 8 leg chip, and tryed to reset that as well, but made no different s to the way the tv was acting, except it now comes up with no channels installed, and then shuts down

so that may of reset it to factory settings (first plug in screen ie choose language and tune channels etc) reading a few threads usually changing the nand solves this issue is it possible you got a bad nand replacement

dont get choose language, just samsung logo, then no channels installed, then shuts down and reboots again, i have ordered a few nand chips, from a different supplier, just in case it was a bad one that i got the first time, only time will tell, but if someone has the firmware for the 8 leg chip, i'll reflash it and see what happens, can't seem to find it anywhere,
i have the 62 meg update file from samsung site, but without the tv staying on, i can't use that from USB

                                UPDATE,
after having 6 different NAND chips from different sources, all resulted in the same outcome,
the tv never went any further than it did to start with, or the tv would not boot at all, so i have now given up, it looks like the only way i will ever get this tv to work , is to replace the main board with a working one, so if anybody has one hanging about, let me know please, or i'll just gumtree the thing for spares or repairs.

This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

                                          Hi

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.

I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6...
