Hi guys & girls, first of all i better say im no expert in TV repair but im pretty good at fixing CNC machine tools down to board level and phones / android apps, its just TV's i seem to be killing.
I was given a Toshiba 40L1333DB for my lad to use in his room, was told that the tv had been working and suddenly went off. i had a good look online / here and found that it was probably a backlight failure. with a torch i could see the picture and sound was ok.
checked there was power coming out of the power supply ( vestel 17IPS20 23122636) which seemed ok.
took the screen apart to get to the leds and started checking the strips using home made 27v & 3v battery packs.
all but 1 strip worked but 2 strips had a bad led (open circuit) which were replaced using a piggy back type repair and the strip that didn't work at all was found to have a faulty / burnt connector that was fixed by soldering direct onto the feed point also had 1 bad (short) led that was also replaced.
feeling proud and smug i started putting things back together again but when i connected the power the thing is now dead, no front panel power led flashing nothing. i know there is power to the power supply but i think i must have shorted something while doing the led repairs. i have disconnected the backlights and main board from the power supply and it is still dead.
i have found and checked the fuse fs101 which seems to be fine but beyond that im lost so im hoping someone clever might be able to help get it working again.
i looked on TV spares and found the board but they are out of stock so im really hoping someone might take pity on my and puppy walk me through fixing it. Thanks
