Pioneer PDP-LX5090 with 8 red blinks – Repair

    Hi,
My Pioneer PDP-LX5090 (manufactured in UK, 2008) has the following issues:
    1. After watching TV for a few hours (~2-3 hours) it suddenly turns off and the red indicator light blinks 8 times, stops for a few seconds and starts blinking again (8 times) and so on.

    2. If I disconnect it from the power supply, and after 2-3 minutes I connect it. When I try to open the TV it feels like it starts (the blue light is on) but after a second it turns off and the red blink starts again.

    3. When I disconnect it from the power supply and then wait a couple of hours and then re-connect it, the TV works again.

Appreciate if someone here can help me with this problem.

8 red blinks is an Address Powerdown.
The likely cause is overheating of one of the address drivers.

Does the panel have any stuck vertical lines or defective pixel areas?

The other possibility is that the VADR voltage from the power supply is low. It should be typically around 75 volts DC. You can test it to see if it drops as the TV is running and it can be adjusted with a potentiometer on the power supply. But be careful not to over voltage VADR.

Finally, you want to make sure all connectors AD1, AD2, D13-D20, Y2, Y5, Y6, X2, X3, X4, P1 and P2 are all firmly connected. BUT never fiddle with these connectors while the television is powered on, and wait at least a minute after powering off before adjusting anything. Failure to do so can damage the plasma panel!

        Hi

I have this exact issue now, 8 blinking lights.

I had the 8 blue blinking lights a while ago which I repaired and tv has worked fine up until now.

As TOM66 mentions I had a vertical thin line on the left side of screen coming down half way was not too noticeable initially but then it grew a little wider and became much more noticeable maybe a mm wide.

My wife was watching TV and she said it just shut down and started the red light blinking.

I would really like to save this telly its such a good picture quality and I like being able to say I had a world class TV lol.

If it was a overheating issue which I can believe as the screen used to get so hot its crazy, I am rather disappointed as I never heard or seen the fans at the top running which doesn't make sense are they faulty or is the setting so high that they never get triggered.

        Any help much appreciated.

        Cheers

Can the test be carried out with the back panel off I read in my search somewhere yesterday that the screen would lock down if it was turned on with back panel off ?

Where would I measure this voltage ?

if the stuck vertical line is in the top left section does that suggest its a particular address driver board etc

Is the voltage only present when it tries to power up or will it still be there when it falls back to its red blinking state?

If voltage is ok does that point at a bad address board if so is this repairable or needs replacing ?

          Cheers

I have a really weird problem, this motherboard was working normally, someday it just started and all fans were running but didn't want to post, tried resetting bios, checking CPU and it was getting warm tried external gpu, flashed bios with programmer, but same problem.
Next day after several attempts the board goes into protection mode, no more staying on, I turn on the PSU fans starts directly turning, it used to not start until I press the pwr button, now it starts directly and fans spins, and shuts off after 3 seconds sometimes less, then won't start again unless I unplug the PSU and...

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
              by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Pioneer PL-X9 motor speed control wobble
              by Bushcat
I'm starting to re-cap a Pioneer PL-X9 turntable, specifically the motor control board, because although everything tests out OK according to the service manual, the speed wavers slightly despite the quartz lock light remaining on. So, I've decided to re-cap that board since it's the cheapest next step...

Pioneer's passive component naming convention is clear to me. For example, CSZA R22M 35 is tantalum, radial leads, 0.22uF, 20%, 35V.

BUT there are two capacitors on the board which have actual Pioneer part numbers: PCL-042. I can tell they are 0.1uF, 16V but don't...

[Help Needed] Yatour YT-M06 (Pioneer 1) – Firmware or Schematic Request
              by EduCabral
              Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on reviving a Yatour YT-M06 CD Changer Emulator module for use with a Pioneer 1 interface (specifically with a DEH-P5950IB head unit).

While the unit is recognized as a CD changer, none of the USB, SD, or AUX features respond, which leads me to believe the firmware may be corrupted or incompatible.

              🔧 Details:
              • Model: YT-M06
              • Interface: Pioneer 1
              • MCU: Fujitsu MB89F202
              • Goal: Find a valid .bin firmware file or memory dump from a working unit

I'm happy to attempt flashing, analyzing memory dumps, or doing hardware-level...

Optiplex 3050 micro 2 blinks followed by 3 blinks issue
              by Taurus12
Does anyone have an idea of what might be the issue with my 3050 micro? I have tried replacing new cmos battery but still the same

I am not sure if its the powersupply that I'm using is the issue since its the original powersupply. its a laptop powersupply with the same specifications with the 3050 micro so i guess it should be fine.

i also tried replacing the bios but with no avail, everytime i try another bios it gives a different blinking lights

Any recommendation on what I have to do next? Thanks in advance
