Looks like panel failure. -
Re: Troubleshooting Philips 55 LED TV(horizontal lines and discolouring)
I would say that it does look like a panel failure EXCEPT that the horizontal lines do not run entirely across the screen. This MAY be just a TCON failure and I would say that you might be able to save this unit with a new TCON. There is also the possibility of problems with the panel PCBs that the TCON connects to (shorted component, bad cap, etc). To access the panel PCBs, you have to remove the panel bezel.Comment

by rtstormHello, I have this 55" Philips TV that suddenly has these vertical lines on the LCD panel. I have checked the T-con board and I noticed some caps have 40Ohm I don't know if this is normal. These caps have 1.2V on them. I mark them on the photo with a silver pen. The T-con board has 1.2V, 12V, 25V, etc. Does anyone have any idea what could it be?
i try to disconect one ribon cable and the problem is the same, one side is white other side have the lines (the same is in other way)

by advantThis thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.
I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match... -

by Stanley1843Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

by Daren87Hello everyone,
I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the... - Loading...
