    Panasonic 50" LCD TV Model TH-50C315Q - No picture but sound

    Hi everybody,
    Just a quick reply here. If you get a LCD TV in whose back lights switch off and you open the TV up to check and count a total of 40 LED's of which 36 are dead short with only 4 surviving. Is it not feasible to say that the back light constant current PSU failed and killed all the led's thus we need to replace all strips as well as the PSU.
    Replacing 36 LEDs would be a total waste of time?
    Any other solution?

      Most likely the LEDs failed on their own and the Drivers are still working on the PSU. So no need for a PSU. Yes, replace ALL the strips as replacing 36 LEDs would be a total waste of time.

          Hi Andrew. Isnt there a form of protection that stops the led psu from killing all the leds. You know if you have an oven you can replace all 5 simultaneously without wasting too much time. My concern is that i change all of them and on switch on it stuffs them all up.
          Have you had it happen to you that you change all leds and start up the tv and it works and is stable?

              The LEDs die on their own. Hardly likely the LED Driver killed them. Replace the strips and your TV will work again.

                  Ok. Now its time to find a supplier. Theres nothing in this country.

                          What is the LCD panel model number? You need to match the LED strips with the LCD panel model.

                              Hi Budm. I added photos of the leds. I have closed the tv so i dont have the panel number but if you want i can open ot up again

                                  The LCD panel model number sticker should be right on the back of the LCD panel.

                                      Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                                      - sound and backlight, but no picture
                                      - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                                      - it keeps rebooting
                                      - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                                      - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                                      - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                                      - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

                                      Hi everyone,

                                      I've got this Panasonic TV here with the following symptoms:

                                      * Standby Light is solid RED
                                      * Turning on using the Button on the TV (long press) would change LED to blinking GREEN
                                      * After a couple of seconds, LED is solid GREEN and without picture or sound.

                                      I've tried a couple of things before tearing it apart:

                                      * Resetting using various combinations of powerbutton and volume buttons pressing down while booting.
                                      * Activating Self Check according to service manual using IR Blaster (we have no remote unfortunately)...

                                      I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

                                      I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and                                      ...

                                      Hi all

                                      I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.



                                      Symptom:
                                      No picture no sound.
                                      When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                                      No sound at all.



                                      What I tried:
                                      1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...

                                      Just picked up an iMac powerpc for $1 at auction. changed pram. This is working. Problem, barely any sound. I have everything cranked up in software, reset nvram/pram - nada. I do get sound ONLY if I plug in a powered speakers in headphone port. I do not get the startup bong.
                                      I get almost no sound with normal headphones. I mean, you can barely hear it. Took the board out and by eye found these 2 inductors broken. Not sure if they are for sound. Speaker is also plugged in and I tried a normal pc speaker in its place - still zilch. Are these inductors the culprit?
                                      I cannot find any schematics...
